Zelda I will be in last place because of being SFFd by three Mario games. And Mario 1 will, at the very least, not collapse like many of you guys are saying.

What possible logic places Zelda 1 next round? You're asking it to resist SFF from two of the site's biggest Mario games?

It's already resisted SFF from Mario 1 and Mario 3. What's the problem with it resisting SFF from Mario World, too?

Am I the only one who sees the potential for Zelda to capitalize on that? I know the series overall hasn't looked THAT great, but that's a golden opportunity. I don't see any reason for it to get wrecked now when it hasn't yet. LoZ probably beats FFIV, by the way.

Kinda concerned about Mario 3 here. Hope it holds on, but it may ruin my bracket anyway because I have it in the finals. I don't think the fact that Mario World is the only SNES game amongst three NES games really matters though. The play rates of all four games are too high for something like that to matter.

The only way for Zelda to capitalize next round is if it's able to beat both Mario 3 and Mario World. And based on today, I don't see that happening, especially since Mario 1's going to pretty much be a non-factor.

Unless you think Zelda 1 doubles FF4.

Mario 3 won the night vote by 25 votes and the morning vote by 93 votes. The fact that it's winning the DSV handily seems to indicate that Mario World will win the ASV. The gap between Mario World's night vote and day vote has generally been larger than the gap between Mario 3's day vote and night vote, so we'll see.

That's not necessarily true. I'd take G/S over Majora's Mask, but MM still managed to beat G/S last round. Of course, Zelda 1 has to be able to beat two Mario games, not just one.

I don't necessarily agree with that assessment either. Just because Mario 3 and Mario World are tied at the hip right now doesn't mean it'll stay that way when you add Mario 1 to the mix.

I don't really see why Mario 1 would affect them differently enough to make a difference.

HM's pretty much the only person in the world that likes 1 better than 3 or World anyway.

Nah, there are probably about 5-10% of those people. Zelda's got a shot one way or the other though. If you aren't a big Mario fan, what else is there?

Mario 3 rose by around 200 votes between 7 and 10 AM with the Morning Vote, and started slowing down when the Day Vote hit. It's only been taking off for the past half hour or so, which it just stopped doing.

If World can just keep things this steady, any type of ASV shift might be enough. If it's down to the wire, though, I wonder which way the rallies will go. There seem to be many people thrilled with the prospect of a World win, but 3 has major bracket advantage.

The only problem is that Mario World's made cuts like that several times and never follow it up. I need to see a couple more updates of that before I believe it's coming back.
