What does Mario 3 have to do with LTTP?

They faced eachother in 2004, so if Mario 3 bombs, then maybe Lttp isn't as strong as people give it credit for

Mario 3 never faced LTTP. It lost to Chrono Trigger.

Which I guess is the same as facing LTTP, but hey!

Mario 3 faced the original Legend of Zelda. Mario 3 and LTTP both faced Chrono Trigger, which is where I'd expect any overrated-ness comes from if there is any.

yoblazer made an amazing point a few days ago that I never responded to. The Wii being looked down upon so badly these days (on this site, anyway) is really making people love older Nintendo even more than they used to. I'm positive the results of this contest would be wildly different if it were held in 2005, or even 2007.

smb3 fans are just a bunch of whistle and raccoon fanboys

To tackle a minor point of tomorrow's match, how bad is everybody expecting Sonic to be left behind? We saw it do a little worse against SF2 with SMB3 in the poll, but it still survived SF2. SMW competed with Sonic a lot more than SMB3 did, but SMB3's still likely the stronger Mario-game and Sonic 2 didn't impress at all. It's also the only Genesis game in the match, so I don't know how low it could actually go.

Hey, no one thought the Canadian ASV would do much of anything to trends! But it absolutely exists- and Canada provides like 10% of our total votes.

I guess today isn't a holiday for Canada? Because it's definitely a holiday for the US.

I've done ass all contest and I'm still that high up? Jeez. Crazy how I'd be near the top if I followed my instinct more often.

I've been doing horrible and I only have 166 points, though at least I got this match completely correct. I could have done better if I didn't make some bad picks like Majora's Mask > Pokemon RBY (I originally had the reversed result in my bracket before changing it) due to particular match results being hyped up like crazy on this board. At least I didn't fall for the Punch-Out hype.

Popular at school, but still not as cool as FastFalcon05, Guru Champ!

I'm not sure whether Sonic will look better or worse than last round. With another big Mario game in the mix, you'd think the Sega rep would look better. However, I'm not ruling out the possibility of double SFF pounding him, especially if Mario World ends up needing support.

But that's the thing. If there's no SFF tomorrow, Mario World comes in second place. FF4 needs Mario 3 to SFF World by 10% just to break even, and going from 30% to 40% on a game is much easier than going from 40% to 50. The big thing making me think FF4 has a chance is how badly Galaxy was abandoned a couple days ago in Brawl's favor.
