Melee's had a great ASV, but part of that is because it's been ass (compared to expectations) during every time slot up to the ASV other than the Power Hour.

I'm tired of people namely Albion and Lopen making ridiculous comeback claims halfway through matches. (I'll let red soxs crono/vincent comparisons slide, those are hilarious!)

I wouldn't mind but every second day it's one of them making some absurd prediction such as Lopen predicting Halo to come back from 3000 down on Diablo to win. I don't get how you can spend so much time analyzing contests and not grasp the basics.

there is nothing ridiculous about KH swinging 2000 votes on freaking resident evil. If Ammy does better in the ASV then a RE4 character, then you know you have a horrid asv.

Besides KH's day vote is a bit overrated. Look at me I can crush such opponents with the ASV such as Agent 47, Alucard, 2005 Solid Snake, Freeman, Lara Croft, Aeris, Squall. It can hold its own pretty well, but we've inflated it because Sora has had terrible ASV opponents.

You've made this argument before, and it's weak. Other characters with day votes have faced these characters, and very few of them have done what Sora has done. You don't jump up 5% from the previous timeframe simply because the other character/game has a bad day vote. You do that because you have a good day vote.

What Axel did against Frog and Mega Man despite being so far down is insane. You know who else has been able to pull off insane day vote swings? Master Hand and Sandbag. We know Smash Bros. has an insane day vote, too. And you can blame it on CT's bad ASV if you want, but not just ANYONE is going to swing 2500 votes with an ASV.

And Riku's day vote isn't good.

RE4 is probably safe, but I want to see KHII make a run at it. This contest has sorely lacked a monstrous comeback attempt. Our biggest successful comeback was Halo/KOTOR? And that was only like 600 votes.

That is a very crude comparison. KH is currently at 47.5% on RE4. It had about 44.5% on FFX when it started cutting those votes. KH went from 44.5% to 50%+ with the ASV. That equates about to going from 47.5% to ~55% here. Of course, it remains to be seen how FFX's day vote stacks up to RE4's.

for one, KH has always done bad on weekends. Just check previous weekend matches. Its day vote is always very unimpressive.

second, we're talking about a game that character that lost 1400 votes against a dog from an obscure game. If RE4 can't beat Okami, then its ASV is pretty damn sad

Here, let me put it in terms you can understand, lhg.

When of the times you mention Smurf and KP as uber credible sources, yet of having no real source other than heretofore mentioned brackets and speculation, it loses of quality.

Meanwhile, I was not of the saying that Halo WOULD be making comeback attempt, and that it was of possibility. Hardly can be denied when you read the history of HALO.

KH hasn't had as nice a set-up as, say, MC-DK. But what Axel did on Frog is by far the most impressive comeback ever IMO (much more impressive than MC's comeback on Frog a couple of years earlier).

All right, here is an interesting thought.

Resident Evil 4 does not seem to be hurt much by Twilight Princess in the poll, given that it is performing way better than it was last round.

So if Resident Evil 4 is not Nintendo, is it possible that Goldeneye 007 is not Nintendo either? How large to you expect the Goldeneye/Mario 64 overlap to be next round?

Diablo 2 being much significantly above the level of these games during the day vote is merely SPECULATION and Master Chief has never been put in situation of mentioning where huge comeback against a night vote was necessary in four way. The timing of days when he did, he cut 1000 votes on Snake who was up by 4500 (!!) Translation of that to terms of 3000 makes it of feasibility, being all I was arguing.

There's a big difference between what can happen and what is likely to happen. Any great comeback, ever has been at the expense of a ridiculously lopsided character such as the CT cast or Donkey Kong. It just does not happen for something without massive trend shifts like Resident Evil 4 or Diablo to plummet like that.

Ada lost a lot of votes to Ammy, yes. But what you forgot to mention was Ada was losing and losing well even before the ASV kicked so of course she was going to drop significantly without a trend shift during the busiest voting period.

I'm calling KH's ASV overrated not because it isn't one of the best, it's because some people think that it's a tier above Halo/Smash.
At this lead not calling RE4 the favourite here is simply... funny

Personally I think KH is in the top tier of ASV day votes, if not the best. I just don't think that any game or character could be 2000 votes down against a moderately competent day vote handler and go on to win.
