Yes, Zelda's trend mark a severe drop off from 3 to 5, but it also generally drops before that, just not as badly.

Well, I agree too many distinctions are dumb, but at the same time expecting a night vote game to get cracking right when the power hour is over is also dumb. All it should need to do is stall unless it's up against something like L-Block or Phoenix Wright.

Sure, it should so trends. The thing is there are trends towards night and there are expecting something to start moshing because the power hour just ended. It doesn't work like that, there's a transition phase between voting blocks usually.

@Shoenin_Kakashi: I wish I was allowed to play RE4, because if I was I'd own it right now, and I would have probably finished it some time ago. Hopefully it and Half-Life 2 will get ported over to some 8th gen console, and then a 9th gen console.

@Chaotic Mind: Good thing not all of us are serious here. That was some nice humor!

Currently I'm looking to get 4 points in this match in both my bracket and my prediction. If Twilight Princess kicks into gear and steals first place, then I get 2 points in my bracket but full points for my prediction.

Currently I'd have 157 points in my bracket and 191 for predictions.

Tomorrow's match has four absolute masterpieces of this generation, and I will do analysis later. I'm still debating percentages.

I have both versions, I just havent played them since im not much of a fan of RE.

Ah, I've got the percentages. Time to analyze the match.

This is another match where all of the positions are up in the air. Methinks SSBB has itself set up well for first place, but I won't be surprised if it lost to Call of Duty 4 because of the split. As a matter of fact, SSBB should be weaker compared to last round while Super Mario Galaxy really shouldn't have much of a difference (SSBM can't hurt SMG more than Pokemon DP, right?). GTAIV will take a close last place, then. Maybe Mario Galaxy could take 2nd place because SSBB could hurt Call of Duty 4 like SSBM hurt Halo? Nah, SMG was beaten quite handily in round 1; it's just not going to happen.

I think many people (myself included) have it beating Brawl later on, and some even considered a legit Top 10. I'd like to think Brawl would be struggling just as much against these guys, but something tells me that wouldn't be the case.

Brawl's taken a bad rap, but it's mostly due to the Nintendo decline. what I didn't understand pre-contest was that this only affected modern Nintendo games, not old games.

when you just Brawl by the results of TP and Galaxy, it makes a lot more sense.

Well, for my bracket I have SSBB > RE4 in the quarterfinals. My analysis was that according to the list SSBM > RE4 and SSBB > SSBM, so there. I forgot about MGS4, so damn it.

Tomorrow's match has masterpieces, while the match afterwards has the most overhyped game ever and something that would be among the big names if only it were longer.

Calling it now. Twilight Princess > Kingdom Hearts 2

That is because it is a freaking myth. The Nintendo deboost does not exist. That people keep harping on it in this topic now after we have seen every Nintendo game (that was not SFFed) besides Galaxy (SFF irrelevant there, it just sucked) go off like a rocket so far about says it all. There may have been a slight Brawl deboost for for Smash characters that get most of their popularity from Smash (Ness and the like, hence their sucking last year), but Link last year looked stronger than ever, Samus was cutting Mario all night and tore through Ganondorf like he was not there, Ocarina of Time has now twice this contest shown to be strongest game in that round, Super Mario 64 beat Chrono Trigger with another Mario game in the poll, LA embarrassed FF VI, and destroyed MMX, and lest we forget, we are currently looking at the possibility of 3 Nintendo games in the final.

There was only one deboost, and it was not Nintendo, it was Mario. Mario and his kin died. Yoshi was made to look like a **** by Squall, Luigi made Liquid look legit, Bowser lost to GFNW, and of course Mario was nearly beaten by Black Haired Cloud, and then cut by Samus the entire match while Crono killed him.
