That doesn't surprise me too much. Diablo is more of this site's kinda game. I thought they would all be relatively close in strength though.

Don't you love Halo, always getting my hopes up.

It's like I've said already about Halo: just when you think it can't bomb harder or fail worse, it somehow finds a way. Lotta determination and heart that Halo has. Finding a way to get 4th against SFFed Wind Waker is just...words fail me.


Weird how Diablo II seems to be a step above both SC and WoW. Wouldn't have expected that.

Diablo doesn't look that much better than Starcraft here.

what would you expect FF8 to get on SSBM? if you think they're somewhat close, then Diablo 2's not any better if at all.

Holy crap. I would've expected more KH support than that. I guess everyone that knows what they're doing expected it to get LFFed out of contention.

That's true. Diablo's got 36.26% on SSBM, and StarCraft got 38.85% on FFVIII. FFVIII > SSBM!

Yeah, Kingdom Hearts' bracket support is awful, only 34%. Heck, I'm surprised that only 48% have FFX in round 3. I guess that's typical GTA overestimation at work, and MGS2 probably had a good bit of support getting there, too.

After StarCraft got trebled by Ocarina, FFVIII's first round looks less impressive than I initially thought it was. I don't think FFVIII/Melee is all that close. Diablo II looks cleanly better, especially since Melee should fall a bit from here.

Melee ended 1% lower at 24:00 than it did at 00:30.

I maintain that Starcraft would have led FFVII for a good bit at the start and finished at least #3 in the x-stats had it beaten Melee and faced FFVII 2 days later in the semifinal.

well, I don't think the world of Melee likes others seem to. its performances are not exactly overwhelming so far, especially considering the competition.

Starcraft got 25% on OoT, I'd peg Melee at maybe 40%ish on OoT or a bit under. Using Diablo's current % puts it at 29% on OoT. Don't know if that will rise and fall by the end of the match.

Bandwagons only get larger, especially as entrants win matches that most people don't expect them to win, which is why Kirby managed to amass such a large bandwagon despite the fact that he realistically had a great shot of winning every match he was in. It's just that MC and Dante get such large support (and probably Leon to an extent) that Kirby winning "surprised" a lot of people, and the next thing you know, he's beating Sonic and leading Cloud for an hour!

I doubt that. Melee has to first drop in percentage overnight, plus it has to deal with two other good ASV games so it shouldn't rise that much in the ASV.

I don't think it would have lost to any non-Nintendo competition outside of FFVII for a good stretch of 3 years probably, at the height of Nintendo dominance on the site. Actually, that question kind of boils down to this question: Chrono Trigger or SSBM?

That match is the match I most wanted to see and most dreaded for years.

High thirties here is pretty good if you ask me. The current 69% on Halo (will fall) compares favourably to, say, 63% on Vice City. Especially after we saw Halo beat GTAIII without too much trouble.

Top ten is looking like a lot of Nintendo games.

I'm thinking that Diablo 2 ends up like 38-39% here on SSBM. Diablo and WoW related things both seem to have horrible board votes then end up much higher at the end then the power hour.

Super Metroid was in an easier part of the bracket.

Though SM > MP IMO.
