From: LeonhartFour | #041 Are you actually denying the game is a beast? Even if you live in some absolute fantasy where FF VII would not be beaten handily by OoT at this current point in time, it is still the second strongest game on this site, and leagues ahead of whatever is #3 for that week. It is obviously a beast. And FF VII's situation was ideal as well, and a weaker pack than this. --- Gunner is, what is the word... passionate. but i think that MichaelWClark dude is far crazier than anything Gunner has posted. Ocarina of Kick Your Ass No matter how this ends up, it looks like FF8+FF9 combined won't match FF8's percentage on SC last round. The percentage it got with Xenogears in the poll. What is UP with this FF LFF? --- http://thengamer.com/guru/ |

Starcraft
gains 31 votes! Looking at last round, FFVIII actually did about the
same with the board vote as with the rest of the first 3 hours. It

I'd said earlier how OoT's pack might be weaker than FF7's if LFF is big enough, and it clearly is. I still think OoT is just as strong as FF7, and potentially moreso, but let's not crown the Bears just yet. --- gamefaqscontests.com gamefaqscontests.com/gallery |

well,
round 1 was advantage OOT for me. round 2 looks like advantage OOT as
well. it's more of a trend than saying anything definitive here. of course that's all speculation, but I've been feeling good about OOT for a while now. and it's not like we're going to get a fair final regardless, so it'll depend more on the opponents than trying to split hairs between 1 and 1a. opening vote is going to be vicious though. remember, FF7 had like 38% at this point. --- xyzzy |

From: LeonhartFour | #065 I was at work from 10 am to to 10 pm today. I checked the polls at work hoping to see change. Damn Gold and Silver fans. WTF is wrong with you? Most of the time Nintendo fans get it, and they will let their character die to help another one. Why not Pokemon fans yesterday. Hell, that is the problem right now. FF IX is the much better game, but people need to vote FF VIII so we can kill off this overrated piece of trash from Blizzard. Finally, I will actually request off the day of the final, as I want to be here all day watching OoT romp on FF VII's carcus. Ocarina of Time, the winner of Best Game Ever II. --- Gunner is, what is the word... passionate. but i think that MichaelWClark dude is far crazier than anything Gunner has posted. I
would take OoT>SSBM. OoT and SSBM should have some overlap, but I
doubt that LFF enough to make both games weaker than the sum of their
wholes like the FF games seem to be doing. --- http://thengamer.com/guru/ |
red sox 777 | Posted 5/17/2009 9:24:12 PM | message detail |
It's not like FFVII's opponents weren't LFFing too. Triple LFF, indeed. Starcraft at least is independent here. --- Link he come to town to win the Gamefaqs Contests. |

of LttP, I'm playing through and just beat Turtle Rock, but I'm missing

one. Which heart piece am I most likely to miss? --- http://fc03.deviantart.com/fs14/f/2007/020/b/f/Ariel_by_lolita_art.jpg |
RPGuy96 | Posted 5/17/2009 9:24:28 PM | message detail |
What's
going to beat FFX in the top half? The only game that could is Melee
and it's going to get Ocarina'd, it only has a chance if FFVIII makes
it there too. We're pretty much guaranteed a Nintendo game from the bottom half (LttP/Mario 3/Mario 64 being the leading candidates), but if FFVIII loses here I don't think anything but FFX can make it on the top half (saving bandwagoning, etc.). --- Mustache...and Green... http://backloggery.com/rpguy96 |

hard for me to be too impressed here, since we still don't know where

So
taking FFVIII/Starcraft from round 1 and Starcraft/OoT from this match,
it looks like that puts FFVIII at 36.82% on OoT at the moment. That's
pretty good I guess. It's too bad it looks like SM64 is going to knock out CT. I'd definitely be all over the LttP > FFVII bandwagon after this if the original match had taken place. --- FastFalcon and Solid Snake snapped my neck in the guru contest. |
