I don't think many (any?) people think Mario 64 has a realistic shot. I'd consider breaking 40% to be an alright performance.

Mainline Mario games have been killing everything these days, but there's no doubt that SOTN isn't the same game that got 40% on GoldenEye in 2004. Alucard's only gotten weaker since then. Heck, 2004 was probably his best year. RE1 only got 30% on MGS in 2004, so it's nothing special either. And we know KSS is weak.

I think it just looked worse then expected against 3 games with good board votes. I wonder if this might be the biggest change in percentage from 5 minute mark to end of the match

Just looked at a comment earlier about Yoshi's Island getting 15%. Really? The game only got 23% last round when the other two games besides CT were Earthbound and Lufia. It's now going to get 15% when you add SM64 and SotN? SM64 won't SFF Yoshi's Island because the games are different? Huh? Since when has that stopped Nintendo SFF? SM64 is going to put a hurting on Yoshi's Island. SotN has a niche but strong fanbase, so I could see it holding up to get 15%. Yoshi's Island? Uh, there might be Yoshi's Island purist like myself who absolutely love the game, but for the most part SM64 should easily be preffered over the late-SNES spinoff Mario game. Chrono Trigger being there won't help YI at all. Yoshi's Island might be happy to get 10% I think. CT and SM64 simply outclass it too much, and that's before you account for SM64 SFF.

FFIV/FFI is an extreme example of what can happen with a split, but it shouldn't be looked at as something that'll happen again, if ever, this contest. Just like how we shouldn't expect to see overperformances from other games compared to how they did in round 1. That was a really weird, unique match.

Yeah, but the gap between FF1's and FF4's strength indirectly is much smaller than between SM64's and SMW2's. I agree it won't be the same situation. SM64 will beat down YI because it's simply that much stronger, and then you apply SFF!

You should be grateful - it just inspired me to change my oracle that had YI getting 17% and SOTN getting the same % as it did last round. <________<
