Although "Everyone" is rather generic because it doesn't reference any specific character, the poll option itself could pull in votes from all of the characters on that side. I mean, someone could be voting for "Everyone" because Mario is on that side, or someone else could vote for it because Cloud is there.

MK64 put that game series on the map.

The original did that. It was the first kart game (or at least the first one anyone cared about), was well received, and sold an absolute ton. Mario Kart 64 probably wins directly, but they might be around equal indirectly. Either way, I wouldn't take either against Goldeneye.

I dunno. MK64 was a huge seller, too, though. It outsold OoT in the U.S. and right on par with Goldeneye. I'd take it to be a bit above SMK indirectly. I would have expected it to beat Super Metroid with some room to spare.

Don't really need to be a powerhouse to beat somebody like Pac-Man. Just easily recognized.

If it can handle Kombat, not sure why it couldn't handle Tetris.

This is not how it would work at all. The picture is way too small for that to happen in numbers.

A picture that just had say Cloud+Snake or Cloud+Mario vs. Link would easily outdo a picture with everyone smushed together vs. Link.

And as said, "Everyone" would probably still lose to Link. Whereas a 3-way with Link/Cloud/Mario or Link/Sephiroth/Snake easily holds Link to under 50%. People just won't attribute "Everyone" to representing their boys.

It's similar to those "Is this really the best game ever" or whatever polls that people bring up - if you had a series of those the numbers would probably add up to over 200%, let alone 100%. People aren't going to vote accurately.

given all the debating I'm seeing, I go like this:

MK64 >= LA > SM/SMK > Tetris = MMX > Sonic 1/2/3 >= Mega Man 2/3

MMX > Sonic 2 is obvious. Sonic 3 is worth 41% on SM/SMK; Sonic 2 is worth 38% on LA at the moment. I have a lot of faith in MK64 and am 100% sure it's stronger than SMK.

Using MM3 vs FF4 as a benchmark I wouldn't be so sure about that.

MMX on top is the only basically sure thing. Sonic 3 on the bottom looks likely, too. MM2 and MM3 vs Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 I'm unsure on but I'd lean towards Sonic 1 > MM3 > MM2 > Sonic 2

Eh, those Mega Man games only had one non-awful looking performance between them, and that was MM3 in Round 1. I'm not trying to discredit it (well, not completely), but it was up against FFIV, and I think there's a limit as to how high a game like that can go. Whereas it's easy to see why MMX would be clearly stronger than the older ones, it's much harder to reason why the original Sonic would be indirectly stronger than the two sequels, especially when everyone was sure that Sonic 2 was the stronger entrant.

No. From what we saw in round 1, FF IX would have to have a darn near even split with FF VIII for SC to have a chance.. More than likely VIII just crushes IX.
