I'd really like to see an appeared-in-game contest, but 1v1 only. A 4-way contest like that would be the worst.

How would it be worse than a standard 4way Character Battle? We're already not going to give a darn. At least we can not give a darn while seeing Darth Vader in the bracket. I just really don't understand this. Everyone here, save a select few, acknowledges that 4ways are a weaker format and that another 4way Character Battle would be a distinctly difficult thing to get excited about... but we'd rather have that anyway than experiment with something new? I'm all for bringing back 1v1s, but it ain't happening. I say we try to make this format as interesting as possible.

And yes, this beats Pokemon discussion. I apologize regardless.

The excitement of a bracket ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS depends on bracket placement. There's a reason why SC2K4 and SC2K6 are generally agreed to have sucked.

Cause Link obliterated the field, and this board hates Link and loves Snake so much it is sickening. Yeah, that is why.

I'm all for bringing back 1v1s, but it ain't happening.

I don't know about this. Vote totals will pick up later in this contest but I think if SB is paying any attention at all (a dubious notion perhaps), then next contest will probably either be a 1v1, something with an even stupider gimmick than 4-ways.

A company that owns a top 300 website would constantly be up to date with the amount of revenue/hits the site is generating. They are going to know exactly, not just based off what Bacon says.

With appeared-in-a-game stuff, can we stop always mentioning Harry Potter? He'd be pretty weak. I don't get why he's always mentioned, yet characters who'd actually be strong like Han Solo aren't.

In that case, they should be smart enough to recognize that we are getting lower votals now with 4-ways than we were with 1v1s back in 2006. L-Block's run was special, a one-time thing that raised votals, not an inevitable result of 4-ways, and they should be able to see that.
