I think DP is going to finish in second here. DP is the second favorite in the Pokemon franchise, plus Platinum has brought a lot of Pokemon fans out of hiding. CoD4 is a strong game, but I don't see it being strong enough to hang with a strong Pokemon game.

RBY > GSC > DPP > RSE

As for Galaxy SFFing it, Pokemon hasn't been SFFed in a contest yet. It's the only Nintendo franchise that acts independently from other Nintendo franchises, which makes sense since it is pretty much a handheld franchise.

If a Nintendo series is going to SFF Pokemon it would be Mario.

Wait... going back through the last topic (yeah, I know, I regret it now) are people actually trying to pass off Persona's performance as bad here? I mean, I didn't have any faith in it either (WHAT THE HELL IS PERSONA), but give the thing some credit here. It's humiliating SF4 here, no matter how big an egg it might be laying. I guess you can give Persona credit if you thought it would be in the single digits, but I think most people would have expected it to hit double digits. Persona and SFIV both suck pretty hard here.

I'm starting to have a bad feeling about Galaxy. Galaxy seems like a game only hardcore Mario fans bought while everybody and their mother were looking forward to Brawl. I'll definitely give the playrate advantage to Brawl, but I'm not so sure anymore if Galaxy is actually liked more than Brawl. Even for a good, well-received Mario game, I'm not sure if it has the 'classic' status anymore than Brawl would.

Meh. Considering it's in a poll with three very mainstream franchises, it's doing well no matter how you phrase it, even if GTA and SF don't have the best track record, it's still not a bad feat. Especially in comparison to some of the earlier matches where you had stuff like Perfect Dark's performance.

That was more Pikachu being Melee SFFd, see Ike LFF Pikachu in round 1 while Pikachu SFF Captain Falcon in round 2.

This is what I'm afraid of. Honestly I think Galaxy was a lot more well-received than Brawl though. Brawl's hype left many haters that still had much left to be desired(AKA they wanted a carbon copy of Melee)

Well, if you wanna look at it like that, you can, but SFIV and Persona are definitely weak games. Getting nearly doubled by GTAIV will do that. I'm fine with giving some credit where it's due, but Persona's not doing anything amazing here, it's SFIV just bombing.

Not that it matters too much, all three of these games are just here for round 1.

For what it's worth, SSBB > GTA4 is currently looking like FFX > MGS2 except SSBB still has a day-vote to look forward to. This isn't as bad as I thought it might be last night, thought it's still not currently doing as well against GTA4/P4 as it did in the GotY-polls earlier. I guess SSBB/LoZ:TP could be up in the air since it underwhelmed against FF12 in comparison to their GotY-polls, though I still definitely like LoZ:TP.

This performance is a lot more SFIV bombing then Persona 4 well, but I'm still happy with it.

As for DP, why is everyone expecting it to be much weaker than GSC? It shouldn't be much weaker.

I think Brawl is pretty close to TP but still under it. TP undoubtedly had stronger competition, but there's only so much I'd expect it to get here.

It's very possible we can see three top Wii games being real close together where SFF settles the difference.

Yeah, I could see DP's ceiling being a little above GSC. Floor would be somewhat below GSC, but I think it ends up a lot closer to the ceiling.

I don't think MGS gets 55% on Galaxy, so no.

And I love Galaxy a bunch, but I still expect Brawl to beat it next round unless it goes out and crushes the poll tomorrow.

COD4 should do well tomorrow. I said pre-contest that I expected it to be the strongest FPS game in the contest, even over Goldeneye. That doesn't mean a whole lot after having seen the Halos and Half-Lifes not do particularly well, but it shouldn't have too much to worry about as far as placing goes. I'd be surprised if Pokemon really challenged it for second.

Half-Life 2 did pretty well for itself. I'd wager GoldenEye > Half-Life 2 > Call of Duty 4 as a best case scenario for CoD4.
