Yeah, I'm kinda surprised about Persona 4. I figured it would fade heavily after the Power Hour, but it's hanging on to where it was 15 minutes into the match. It should be completely garbage during the day...but SFIV's not going to do much with the day either.

-Team Fortress 2 being a non factor? After seeing what Half-Life 2 did? Huh.
-The reason why 3d platformers don't do well aside on this site aside from Mario 64, is, well, LOOK AT THE FREAKING GAMES. This site only cares about Mario, Sonic, and Mega Man (and associated characters) when it comes to platformers. Out of those three, Sonic and Mega Man have failed to make the transition to 3d well, and Super Mario Sunshine wasn't looked on very well by fans. Franchise voting has worked for EVERY game in a popular series on GameFAQs except for one that was really different from the main series (that's why Majora's Mask, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Final Fantasy XII all bombed). Super Mario Galaxy is well loved by fans of the Mario series, and that is the 3rd most popular franchise on this site, overwhelmingly more popular than anything not named Final Fantasy or Legend of Zelda.

Now for talk about another game, Final Fantasy VI. Many are saying it disappointed in its match, and I agree, as it failed to break 60% on a handheld game. Now, it's possible that FF6 is declining on this site (as evidenced by Kefka's piss-poor performance last year), but another thing that just about nobody considered is that FF6 is overrated in this contest. I mean, the whole FF6/DOOM/EarthBound trio has bombed this contest, and it can be explained in no way aside from FF6 overperforming in its final match in the last games contest due to seeding. I mean, from breaking 45% on A Link to the Past to not breaking 60% on Link's Awakening isn't god by any means. It may have seemed obvious, but I just wanted to point it out.

*Shrugs* Whatever man. I just don't appreciate getting knocked at for essentially no reason >_>

Heh, PW's board vote makes everyone else's board vote look bad. TP has a great ASV like you'd expect, but its night vote isn't horrible for a Zelda game. Though its Power Hour was probably diluted some thanks to PW. HL2 had a strong Power Hour, but it took a hit in the ASV. We might be able to rank FFXII up there with the all-time worsts in the board vote and Power Hour department. It did well everywhere else except the ASV. In like manner, we can rank PW up there with one of the all-time great board votes.

Hmm. I have to agree with LinkMarioSamus on FF6. Link's Awakening is nowhere near LttP in strength, that much is for sure. However, he brought up Kefka's poor performance last Character Battle, and I must point out that Kefka (and FF6's characters, actually) have repeatedly stunk up the joint.

I can't see how you could form a consensus one way or the other on this. Brawl's got less than 50% on a GTA game, Persona 4, and a game that is less than 30 votes ahead of Persona 4. TP did worse on FFXII than it did in the GotY, a FFXII that lost comfortably to Half-Life 2. Both either met expectations or slightly disappointed them, both are massive hype failures for their respective series. I guess I'll give Zeldafear the edge, though.

Same here. Watching Street Fighter IV struggle with Persona, it's very difficult for me not to picture FFXII taking second place here easily. Heck, I wonder how Mr. Wright would be doing against Persona.

WTH are you doing here, SFIV? It's nice to see P4 do something in this match, but this isn't nice for my bracket (Have SFIV>Brawl in R2).

That said, I don't think SF2 is a lock to advance anymore, and Sonic, regardless of the SFF by Mario 3, is probably making it through this one.

Agreeing with yo here, though I'm intrigued more by how their match will be the first time we can actually PROVE that Sonic is affected by Nintendo. We've all tried to make up guesses for what Sonic 2 should have gotten on SMW, and we won't see Sonic 3 again....but at least we can finally see a solid before-and-after with Sonic (and Sonic 2 later with a handheld non-platformer).

I also forgot to throw in my opinion of comparing LoZ:TP's/SSBB's competition: I'm certain FF12 beats GTA4 (and HL2 beats it worse), and I'd probably take PW:AA over Persona 4 (and SF4 by default). LoZ:TP's opponents were definitely better.

What did anyone expect with SF4? It's been out for a handful of months so not a lot of people have it, would have not have made a 128 bracket legitimately, is sharing a poll with a much more popular fighting game and Street Fighter isn't all that popular on this site in the first place.

Persona is doing fine for a cult game
Street Fighter IV is doing fine for a new release on the two minority consoles.
GTA is doing fine and on par to other games in its series.
Brawl will end up with a decent enough percentage at the end.
