Okay guys, HOW can Call of Duty 4 beat Super Mario Galaxy tomorrow? -It has to share votes with another FPS. -FPSs have been disappointing. -It's facing the site's most popular franchise not called Legend of Zelda or Final Fantasy So yeah, how can Call of Duty 4 beat Super Mario Galaxy tomorrow? By getting GameSpy to vote and saying their vote is supreme? |

We talk about it on AIM all the time. The answer is always "faith". I've hardly ever talked with you on AIM about it, by the way, just to set the record straight. I'll be surprised if it clears 12% - Halo is the only FPS that really underperformed, and there's plenty of reason for that since we were basing our assumptions off of GAME FUEL - Just because a game is from a popular series doesn't mean it's automatically strong. See Majora's Mask, Wind Waker or FF12. Things
seem different now, however. The Series Contest tells us Smash rolls
over Metal Gear no problem. I'm far from confident that this happens

Happened during Brawl hype. and rude, but I really didn't see any of that towards Persona 4
pickers. Nothing really compares to Vincent/Kerrigan though (Ugh@ that

That was thanks to hype! I suspect the same thing about SSBB though. I mean, it's not the SMS of its series or even the LoZ:MM or LoZ:WW of its series...but it still needed to be better-received within the Nintendo-fanbase to stand very strong behind it in a SFF-situation against established classics. Not that I'd take every Nintendo game with half-decent strength over SSBB -- it's a GotY-winner, afterall -- but it's probably not going to be an all-time classic like we thought it would be, here or otherwise. I'd take SM64 to never let SSBB be close and still like SMG to beat it. Time'll tell how that prediction goes, but I wouldn't like SSBB in SFF-matches. --- Prototype Shorthand, do you speak it?! |
