Well, I wouldn't say any Kingdom Hearts game gets universal love, even from big fans of the series. For every person that prefers KH1, you've got an equal amount who think KH1 kinda sucked, which is probably why they won't be too far apart from each other.

I see a lot more "KHII sucks" people than "KH1 sucks" people, though. Plus, it seems to me that those most likely to vote for any KH game are the core fans - those made fans by the first game an more likely to like it for than the second.

really?I liked KHII more,perhaps cause it was a more shonen type appeal,but the triangle button hate seems random like people suddenly calling R2 code trainwreck.
i'm sure the younger audiences liked 2 better cos it was more accessible,never doubt the kiddies,you always fear em when they wake up.

I dunno about that. You've got plenty of people here who have, and I know I did. You can usually make up for that with people who picked up KH2, but didn't play KH1 -- there's a number of those out there, too.

I personally prefer KHII myself, but I can see why people like KHI better. I don't think they'll be too far apart when it's all said and done though.

And I'm starting to think that all the Halos, all the GTAs, and games like Half-Life, WoW, Oblivion, etc. are all going to be in the same general range. I think they're all going to be pretty interchangeable to the point where any matchup involving them is going to be a toss-up.

Although GTA and Halo bombing seems to be the only given at this point. This sorta makes Galaxy's GOTY performance not look QUITE so good because it owned CoD4 which owned Halo 3, which is probably going to stink up the joint. I only bring that up because I did my write-up for the Galaxy match earlier so that's on my mind.

I've got my doubts on RE4, but I don't expect KH2 to win that one. I do think it'll be much closer than RE4 than it will Gears, though.

KHII does a lot of things differently from KHI, but I think there are a lot of people who think those changes were for the worse, and some of them were.

Actually, all the complaints about KHII I've seen come from changes. Too much triangle mashing, not enough Disney focus, not enough pseudo-platforming, ect.

KH1 and KH2 aren't really the same thing, not any more than you would expect a sequel to be. It fixed a lot of the issues that brought KH1 down (bad platforming, lol Gummi Ship, and less dumb trigger pointing), but then some people think these changes made the game easier.

it's not as if triangle could one hit K.O bosses,it was good to blast through fodder opponents when you were in a rush or in a tournament,but sometimes during bosses I quasi-Ignored,it did a fair bit of damage but it's nothing worse than spamming KoTR in FFVII.

Well, FPS games in general aren't doing well. I don't know why this is really surprising anyone though because that genre has never been GameFAQs' cup of tea. I guess we were expecting them to do better since the site was shifting more toward XBox and away from Nintendo, but maybe not.

If Half-Life 2 performs like the rest of its genre, then yeah, it's doomed.

But Gordon had to get his newfound strength from SOMEWHERE, and you'd think it'd make his game decently strong.

Plus, Gordon did beat Balthier, for whatever that's worth.

The two biggest complaints I hear about KHII are the Quicktime triangle button and the decreased importance of the Disney characters. I personally think the game takes more steps forward than it does back.
