Theres
only so strong games like KOTOR and ToS can be. KOTOR got only 40%
against a GTA game in 2004, and ToS always brings lots of fodder to the
table that can't even crack 20% in 4ways. The fact both got about 25%

fourpack was pretty weak. Again, not fodder, but they're not anywhere

When you think about it what games from last generation will be remembered in 20 years? Considering
how many weak games are in this contest, if you're outside of the top
30 I wouldn't consider you all that noteworthy. It's like Frog levels
in the character contest. He's not fodder either, but his level is so
far below most other characters that it's not often he'll be in more
than one match where he can win. Same thing here -- Halo and WoW aren't
going to beat many notable games if they can barely hang above Okami. --- Enough expository banter! Now we fight like men! And ladies! And ladies who dress like men! |

Okami
does have a pretty hardcore fanbase that should get it mid to high

Guys,
you remember this is 4 game FFA yes? When you throw that in the mix,
games that are more casual are obviously going to do worse. Come on
now. Okami is fairly obscure, though not as much as it used to be. It
obviously has a more dedicated fanbase. It's not that hard to realize

It obviously has a more dedicated fanbase. 'Hardcore fanbase' has never amounted to diddly squat, and I can't believe anyone this brings this up. It's the freakin' Stone Ages of contest analysis. Realistically,
the two games with the most hardcore fanbases on this site are FFVII
and Ocarina - they have the most voters willing to vote for them over
anything else. The way we defined a "hardcore" entrant in 2007 - one
whose niche but ultra-devoted fanbase would carry it to successes in
the 4way format that it could never see in 1v1 - has been largely
disproven. The only case that jumps immediately to mind here is Monkey

WoW is staying impressively steady here. It might finish the day above
24% at this rate, and that should be seen (at least in my opinion) as a
clearly stronger performance than what either winner managed yesterday.

It's
very possible that the problem with the hardcore theory is that
"hardcore" games are usually among the least independent. Think about
it. What kind of person plays Earthbound, FFIX, Chrono Trigger, etc?
People who have played a lot of games. People who are fans of a lot of
games. People who like a lot of other games, and have a good
probability of seeing a game they like among the other 3 options.
Independence is a much much better characteristic to have in 4-ways

I meant the matches that were "close" for Ammy. In 1v1, I doubt they'd
give her turbo fodder like matt the mii or kaim round 1 like an elite

When you think about it what games from last generation will be remembered in 20 years? Well the Gamecube was weak on Nintendo's end, but the PS2 was just fine. Sure it didn't have the Square RPGs like the PS1, but really, how many PS1 games outside of Square will fit the same description? MGS, RE, SotN, ....? The PS2 had a ton of solid games, it's just that a lot of them simply weren't popular with the GameFAQs crowd (platformers, sports, racing, etc). --- Currently playing: GTAIV, SSBB, MP3, Apollo Justice, FFIVDS, Dracula X |

As
for World of Warcraft in round 3, it's not strong enough to advance
there, BUT if Starcraft and Diablo 2 are both in round 3, WoW would be
the 3rd Blizzard game in 3 days. If SC and D2 make large comebacks, win

doesn't guarantee strength, but I feel Okami has a cap for just how
many fans it can get. Like Monkey Island has a cap of about 30% (thats
what it got against Ryo), I can see Okami having a cap when faced

Island appears to have a cap of around 30% because it's so weak that
it's never encountered competition bad enough to break that. Such
competition, however, does exist- don't doubt that Guybrush would beat

It failed to break 30% against Ryo ... Ryo Hazuki (2003c) VS CATS (2007c) Ryo Hazuki has a strength of 12.62. CATS has a strength of 14.87. CATS wins with 57.57% of the vote! A win of 17,824 with 117,800 total votes cast.
