WoW likely has a better ASV then Diablo too, since its a popular casual game that many kids play.

Weren't people always saying how Diablo had such a great day vote? Also Diablo won the ASV against Arthas if that means anything.

Arthas at that point was popular due to Warcraft 3, which isn't as casual friendly as WoW is. And I never ntoiced Diablo having a good day vote... Kratos Aurion killed him in the asv.

Halo is actually making cuts on WoW even at this time - yeah, we're not full-blown night vote, but this isn't going to be the kind of lead that WoW can feel safe with. It's probably got a better day vote than D2, but against Halo that won't say much.

For the record, WoW's currently getting 39.83% on MGS3. Compare that to Morrowind getting 38.02% on MGS2 and FFT getting 28.07% on MGS.

Hmm....Halo can probably come back if it can keep WoW's lead under 2000. If it keeps the lead under 1500, it can probably come back and get a lead of 1000+ before the second night vote. It's hard to say what kind of cushion Halo would need- we still haven't seen anything except for Starcraft actually pull off a massive rally with the second night vote (no, Frog's was tiny compared to what Starcraft did), and that was 5 years ago. And of course WoW could potentially rally more than Starcraft ever did.

I guess I'm going to predict the next match.

Ho ho ho, the time for perhaps the best game of the century is here. The adrenaline rush one could get from playing Resident Evil 4 may not sound like much, but go back to Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid, or Metroid Prime and you'll realize how much you're missing those huge hoards of enemies, instead seeing bad guys come in onsies and twosies, or maybe groups of five at most. That, plus a great atmosphere, gives Resident Evil 4 my vote. I've never actually played any of the games in this fourpack, but all the critical acclaim about RE4 hands the vote there. Following that we have Shadow of the Colossus, an underrated hit just like Okami, and my favorite for second due to its art style and unique nature. Then comes Kingdom Hearts 2, our first Square title since, uhm, 5 matches ago! KH2 isn't exactly a huge favorite for me; I've heard the game can be stupidly easy at parts. And finally, Gears of War, a game that follows in RE4's footsteps and sets the player in a war-torn environment. As far as the actual match goes, methinks Resident Evil 4 shouldn't have too many problems getting first place. I stupidly took Gears of War for 2nd in my bracket; Kingdom Hearts 2 is probably going to take that spot now. Gears of War will disappoint, but Shadow of the Colossus will get PS2 SFF and finish last. I'm going to root for Wander and Agro (greatest sidekick ever!!!) to upset KH2 and GoW (wouldn't mind if GoW advanced though) and come in 2nd.

Prediction: Resident Evil 4 > Kingdom Hearts 2
Bracket: Resident Evil 4 > Gears of War
Favorites: Resident Evil 4 > Shadow of the Colossus

tomorrow's match is interesting.. KH2 stands out like hell compared to the others, and it's the only Square/Nintendo game.

If KH2 isn't that strong, though (and KH's win looks less and less impressive by the day), RE4 has to dominate despite that STF if it wants to prove itself as a Top 15 game. It's a potential Top 10 to boot, and unlike so many others its path actually isn't set in stone.

Yep, that's what scares me. I don't expect KHII to be stronger than the original, but RE4 and Gears are probably the biggest two reps in that third person action shooter genre. Luckily for RE4, there's at least another PS2 title present.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see KH2 win. The main support for RE4 being strong is the Game of the Century poll and the List, neither of which looks too good now.

I'm probably one of the only people that has MGS3 > Halo 2 for two rounds, so I'm mostly just crossing my fingers on this comeback. Maybe this'll actually get my bracket back in the game if it works!

I'm really surprised as to how big a favorite WoW was around here (I thought it was an underdog given its awful poll performances). Guess I was far from the only one sick of getting burned by Blizzard.

GTA was a monsterous fave based on polls and Warcraft still had a large backing. people will follow Blizzard off a cliff after Starcraft.

We've already seen some weird trends in this match, though. I mean, Halo outperforming MGS3 for 60 straight minutes after the Power Hour? I dunno what's in store for the rest of this thing, but seeing as how it's a Saturday (and how the early vote seemed to last almost twice as long as usual, albeit in somewhat diluted form), I think WoW has a lot more than four hours to pad this lead.

Eh, the second hour isn't really all that different from the Power Hour proper. Halo was making a ton of sporadic stalls on KOTOR and refused to relinquish its lead until we entered the true night vote (which floods in right about now).

Also, there's no telling on how MGS3's trends completely break down. The original MGS's day vote was, if anything, even more abysmal than we expected, but MGS2 was a completely different story. Then again, with MGS2 being the black sheep of the series, maybe its weakness came primarily from night-voting fans of MGS that hated Raiden?
