I don't think any guru has TOS > Oblivion. Damnit, and I thought I was going to go through the whole of Round 1 without any 0 point matches. --- The Gamer In Me http://thengamer.com/guru/bracket.php?id=158 |

Man, I almost miss the days when ToS was HM's #1 game and half of his top ten list was ToS characters. Heck, HM only has himself to blame for ToS being popular on Board 8 in the first place! --- http://www.court-records.net/animation/phoenix-superobjection.gif |

... ... ... If...If HM hadn't hyped ToS so much, it never would've had such a strong board vote. And if it hadn't had that board vote... Breaking news! Heroic Mario responsible for Tales of Symphonia winning! --- http://thengamer.com/guru/ |

The main reason I got ToS was because you wouldn't shut up about it! I would've gotten it eventually anyway (lol RPGs being my favorite genre while only owning a Cube), but you made me all excitied and stuff. --- http://thengamer.com/guru/ |

Why do people complain about ToS character who keep getting in anyway? Let's take this year by year: Sp2005: No one rallied for Mithos as is my understanding (Who gives a **** about Mithos?), but he still did decent compared to the rest of the competition. 2005: After seeing Mithos, there was absolutely NO reason that Kratos and Lloyd did not deserve a shot. No reason whatsoever. The fact that Mithos did so well in 2005 is a gigantic mystery looking at Lloyd and Kratos this year. We had every reason to have high hopes for them and a good part of that *was due to Mithos*, aside from any fanboyism. Plus Kratos, was legitmately above the fodder line. He was not anywhere near "fail" level. Which Lloyd was not at either, I should add. 2006: Sheena was more popular than half of the entrants in the female bracket, and was just poorly placed. Of course, other more popular characters were snubbed, but based on seedings, there's a huge field left before you get to Sheena kicking anyone out. 2007/2008: There is no reason why Lloyd and Kratos can't make a 128 character field. They're both good enough, and Kratos once again appeared to be above the fodder line in 2007, and was stuck behind Nintendo SFF in 2008. Zelos was a disaster though, I'll admit that. If you want to complain about anything complaining about Jade Curtiss getting in *twice,* not about reocurring characters who are high end fodder at worst. --- FastFalcon owned me in the Guru Contest! |

yeah
Oblivion's dying compared to the shenanigans of these two. this is
anybody's match now, probably. I'd feel better about Tales if it could
get some separation before the last hour, but then I guess TOS will get
more weird stuff in its favour so maybe it'll all balance out. --- xyzzy |

Eh,
Oblivion's held pretty steady throughout the ASV so far. Heck, the only
game that's really dropped very much is (surprise, surprise) GTA. --- http://www.court-records.net/animation/phoenix-superobjection.gif |

Sp2005:
No one rallied for Mithos as is my understanding (Who gives a ****
about Mithos?), but he still did decent compared to the rest of the
competition. Mithos getting 36% against Kefka was not impressive, though compare to the rest of the field it was passible 2005: After seeing Mithos, there was absolutely NO reason that Kratos and Lloyd did not deserve a shot. Agreed. 2006: Sheena was more popular than half of the entrants in the female bracket, and was just poorly placed. Of course, other more popular characters were snubbed, but based on seedings, there's a huge field left before you get to Sheena kicking anyone out. lol female bracket, but you have a point. Eh we've seen them enough, sure 2k7 would have been interesting given the format, but we've seen their strength and they aren't getting any more popular. I rather try out new characters or bring back old ones like Ken Masters. --- Board 8 BOP: http://www.freewebs.com/charmander6000/BGE2%20BOP.xls BGE2 - Today's Match: GTA: SA > GoW Points: 71/96 |

Mithos getting 36% against Kefka was not impressive, though compare to the rest of the field it was passible What are you talking about? That was a PATHETIC performance by Kefka.
