~*Say What? Some Common Stat Topic Lingo Defined*~

SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote, because the Zelda fanbase so clearly sided with him. However, take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make total sense. This has caused a few SFF jokes, with LordOfDabu's "Some Frivolous Factor" being the funniest of them.

X-Stats - Short form of Extrapolated Statistics, aka the mathematical "strength" of a contestant that can be determined based on their performance in any given matchup. See above for a detailed explanation of the x-stat process.

rSFF (Reverse Same Fanbase Factor): An unproven theory that states that an SFF match will feature the expected weaker character receiving more benefit from SFF than the stronger character. For example, all evidence supports Samus being indirectly stronger than Mario, yet Mario blew Samus away during their 2005 match. That's rSFF in action, and the one case we have of the weaker statistical character winning with it.

Okay, time to predict the next match.

Here we go, the game that launched Xbox Live, the ultimate Cold War adventure, the greatest MMORPG, and an underrated cult hit. If we go by franchise voting, Metal Gear Solid 3 has the win here, and the list says so! Then again, the list failed us big time in today's match. Then again, the list is the only thing we have. Oh, and MGS3 is widely called the best game in its series; I don't agree with that, but seeing how Metal Gear is one of this site's most popular franchises, it's hard to argue that the ultimate Cold War adventure (TM) will do well. Okami, unfortunately, is facing another action adventure on the PS2 and will be last. Now for Halo 2 vs. World of Warcraft. Both games are revered among the multiplayer crowd. WoW has the list advantage (#39 vs. #85), and Warcraft > Halo on this site, or so I'd think. After seeing what Diablo II did, methinks it wouldn't at all be questionable for WoW to get first, but I'm going to go with the safe option and stick with my bracket.

At least Oblivion is kicking some ass right now. Oblivion is essentially like Diablo II, except with more critical acclaim and exposure. I know quite a few friends who like that game.

It would be somewhat cool if Oblivion kicked Twilight Princess out. (not that I'd vote for Oblivion in such a match, but still...)

Man, being the only major RPG on the GameCube is apparently worth a lot! I'd have to say I favor Oblivion > GoW right now because if GoW is anything like Kratos, it's going to own the day vote. Oblivion's ASV won't be too bad either. I'd love it if ToS could hold on and advance, but regardless...

I think the day vote will save ToS, it'll have to choke to lose to SA now (can't believe I'm saying this). However it will be the closest match when this is done.

Also despite this it does look like SA is the strongest GTA.

Considering Oblivion > Morrowind, Kingdom Hearts would have to almost equal FFX for Vice City to be above San Andreas.
