but great vs. good doesn't mean you can make a large comeback. Which means if it can separate itself overnight from GoW it's a lock for 1st! :) ToS reminds of my mother. I wouldn't be so sure about that plasmabeam. I mean sure it didnt have a big budget in it like the first TOS was, but it has its strong points too. The monster system in particular was done very well for such a low budget game, most games that try a similar thing tend to make monster allies very weak or too cumbersome to train. In tos:dotnw , raising your monsters can make a huge difference in battle, hell id hate to have my Fenia and Fenrir turn on me, they would slaughter my lvl 100 Emil and Marta in 5 seconds....... --- "If history is to change, let it change. I
think there's a factor people are forgetting here: GTA and God of War
are both mature-rated mainstream titles on the PS2. They're bound to
have a lot of overlap. ToS is the only JRPG in the poll, and the only Nintendo game. How
much Grand Theft Auto can suck never ceases to surprise me. And
seriously, there are less and less words that can describe Metroid
Prime's performance. Though like yoblazer, I can always fall back on

While
the favorite GTA poll was bad, it seems the favorite Metroid poll
wasn't lying: Prime at the height of its popularity, with several other

Seems ToS is holding on to the lead, but i'm pretty certain its gonna need more than a 150 vote lead to keep first place. Nonetheless, ToS is doing pretty damn good id say. I still think tos:dotnw plays a factor in a few ways. Another thing was the Skits in the sequel. guess Prime is just a more polarizing game. There are people who
worship it as the best game ever and people who think it just blows.
Super is generally more liked across the board. And on a point I don't think we've discussed yet, it seems that no matter how GameFAQs morphs over the years, it will always remain an RPG site at heart. Apart from the ancient stuff that no one remembers, there have been far more impressive RPG performances than disappointing ones in the past few weeks. --- I, like clockwork, have been humiliated by hochiminh Hochiminh is better than me. What
is the deal here? If anyone would have made an argument for these
results beforehand we would have laughed them off the board. I think in my lifetime I've seen one copy of Tales of Symphonia. It was on the shelf of the video game store I worked at THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS THERE. I thought no one liked this game, and I would have put it down for maybe breaking 10% in Oracle. Are we seeing some ridiculous Asian vote inflation or something? I'm still just baffled. --- Save a plant, eat a cow. |

but it certainly refutes your "nobody likes it" statement. Anyway, it's
an RPG with good sales released on a Nintendo system. It's reasonable
to expect it not to place in the top two but it definitely won't flop
(as in single digit % of the votes) especially since it doesn't overlap
the other games all that much. |

Well as much as id like to sit and watch this heated battle i can't stay up all night with my cousins visiting tomorrow. I just pray to the goddess that ToS manages to advance to round 2 at least, since it actually has a chance this time. I mean Kerrigan and Balthier completely embarrassed themselves, but at least they didn't go from winning GOTY to well, losing by 500 votes to a game that they were far ahead of in said competition. --- FastFalcon owned me in the Guru Contest! |

I dunno, Kerrigan's 80/20 loss was so unbelievable in the context that a sizable portion of people were arguing for her victory. almost lost for words...how can a game that sold 21 million copies be
in last here? Hold this poll anywhere other than GFAQs and it wins in a
blowout. But GFAQs really hates its GTA it would seem. |
