Not saying they'll do anything, but before these contests started, people would have called Chrono Trigger an obscure old game that people wouldn't care about. Or did you forget quite a few people had Simon Belmont beating Crono in 2002?

Maybe so, but lots of people were very very surprised at Cronos strength back in 2002. Even Crono supporters didn't seem to think he'd get past Dante.

And yeah, Ike is probably much more Brawl than he is Fire Emblem. How this game isn't collapsing in this time block despite Melee in the poll is really beyond me. Just think about it!

Kids are coming home from school and voting for Fire Emblem over Zelda in greater percentage than the overnight weirdos did. The heck!

I think Kratos Aurion technically improved against Diddy Kong with the ASV. And Lloyd at least hanging in their with Jak and HK-47 isn't bad. It's probably not an impressive day vote but it's probably more day vote than night vote at least

We already saw yesterday that KOTOR has a good ASV, and for whatever the reason, 3-D platforming characters have good ASVs. Ratchet outright beat Thrall with the ASV despite being down like 5000 votes going into it.

Let's see...Mithos faced Kefka, whose day vote needs no introduction. Lloyd faced Wesker, and he's RE. He faced Zero twice, whose day vote is pretty good, and he went even with him. Kratos faced Diablo, who has a decent day vote, and gained a little bit. Sheena owned Jill with the day vote, and she's RE. Kratos faced Midna/Scorpion/Agent 47, and he went even with them.

So Tales of Symphonia's day vote is average, but average is better than most of the cult stuff you see around here.

Aeris/Marle was a weekend match for one, and for two, for some reason the FFVII girls have the exact opposite trends the guys do. Tifa's the same way. Great night vote, horrible day vote.

SA > VC > 3 is the norm everywhere else and I don't see it being any different here.

Vercetti > CJ is possible because games =/= characters and Vercetti is a much better character in Vice City than CJ in San Andreas.

It should probably be 3rd in the ASV tomorrow. If Kratos is any indication, God of War should have a great ASV. And Morrowind went up like .30% during the asv in its last match, so Oblivion seems like it should have a good asv as well.

I'm staying out of this conversation for the most part, but I'll add this bit: even if Kratos Aurion went up on Diddy Kong by a little bit in the ASV, that's neverminding that Captain Falcon was also in the match and Alucard dropped a ton with the ASV as expected...so at least one character had to gain. Guess who did? All three of the other opponents, so gaining in general was no biggy and Kratos didn't improve very much on Diddy despite CF.

That's all. I don't really want to discuss ToS further until the match starts (or maybe even finishes). No offense intended to the fans of the game, but it seems like every match ToS is represented, people have to make the stretch of a "reasonable" upset possibility and defend it until the very end despite its current track record, and that's just not fun for me. No need to preach games =/= characters either; I'll eat my words if it pulls something out tomorrow, but meh...never liked its chances for even third place.


(ps i apparently do the same for earthbound and i dont even like it)

Which is the exact reason I refused to pick ToS to advance here, so if it FINALLY does the ONE time I don't pick it, I'm going to kick myself.
