Hopefully KotOR holds out for just one more update. It just needs to stall the Chief to win a bit of time, and then it can bow out and lose in a respectable manner.

Now I'm worried about GTA:SA, granted it's the most popular and successful of the GTA series, but if GTA3 is finishing last in this four-pack Round 2 doesn't look good for it (it's lucky it drew a pretty tame Round 1 pack).

Calling bull**** on that one. That was KOTOR's best update of the match. No way it was legit.

What an awesome way to come back from KotOR. Its fans must be cheaters, or have an unmatched sense for drama. :p

Actually, looking at it more closely, KotOR pulled in nearly the same amount of votes that update as it did the one before when it dropped 24. That was just Halo falling off that time. Still funny.

Halo did this kind of a "stall" when KOTOR looked on the verge of taking the lead, as well. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, at least as far as "rallying" is concerned.

Eh, GTA was never really gonna do much with the day vote, I don't think. KotOR's just impressed with it enough that it looks worse when GAME FUEL strikes.

I'm not writing Starcraft off completely. Like I said earlier in the contest, SFF seems to be more prevalent the closer you get to the present. Mega Man 2/3 are screwed, but Starcraft has a great shot to take advantage of an SFF situation, unless FF9 gets absolutely destroyed by 8 (which would still be awesome)

And Halo did it. Barring a heckuva comeback from KotOR, the match is over, but damn if it wasn't good.

Halo 2 should have another amazing ASV in its match. WoW, MGS3 and Okami should all be more night focused games, yeah?

MGS for sure. No idea about Okami and WoW, but I'd say yes. How did Thrall, Arthas and Amaterasu go last contest?

Thrall wasn't in last contest, but in 2007 he did best at night and died during the day, and Arthas did best at night then gave up 1500 votes to Ike during the asv. Ammy also kinda drops during the day.

Pretty good stuff, but Diablo still goes in as a big favorite next round. Halo and GTA are still really underperforming here, and that suggests that there might be a casual split between the two. If Halo splits the casuals with GTA, there's not much reason to think it won't split with Melee as well. Plus, Diablo will stand out more in Round 2 and Halo will begin that match completely buried. It also won't have as good of an ASV to look forward to.

So yeah, this is basically Chief mustering everything in his power to keep from being a complete embarrassment, but it doesn't make Halo (or the two sequels) look good at all in the upcoming days.
