Last time we saw it, all those years ago, Halo collapsed 19 hours into the poll. I'm waiting to see if the game has kept its trends static or it the shift has stopped it from going down horribly like it has with the Chief. It'll be interesting to see how close the game has remained to its main character in trends.

That was 10 PM back in that poll, which is abotu the time Chief should slow down. He has over 5 hours to gain here.

Yeah, MC owns the ASV which should edge Halo over KOTOR.

Halo 2 is now doomed if freaking KOTOR can get a lead on Halo 1 so easily. Fallout 3 > Halo 3 is also looking much more likely. Looks like 2007 really was a fluke year for MC/Halo with that Halo 3 hypetrain going on.

Hmm...Halo is down 215 votes. Wonder if it'll get KotOR below 200 in the next update?

I've always felt like Halo 2 >= Halo, but I don't have enough ground to stand by that...and WoW will not compare to D2 pre-rallying, so it's not all doom and gloom just yet if those ideas sync up and rallying doesn't amount to much. Seeing Halo this close to D2 makes me feel good about comparing their natural on-site strengths, at least. Who knows though.

KOTOR's been going almost even with Diablo since the ASV started, so Halo has cut about 400 votes off of D2 already. Looks like it might end up cutting over 1000 votes off of D2's lead by the time we're done, in which case I think we can say that this is KOTOR impressing with the ASV and not Halo failing.

KOTOR is having a very impressive ASV. It's hard to go up in % when there's Halo in the poll, especially since Halo should be splitting some of the Xbox vote.

Didn't it do that LAST update, not this one? I didn't take its value, so I can't tell.

Yeah, the more I think about it the more I believe the three Halo's are more-or-less on equal footing. There aren't a lot of huge differences (aside from more grand presentation) between sequels to give one a huge advantage over another.

If Halo is getting smothered by GTA3, Diablo 2 and freaking KOTOR then the sequels are very much in jeopardy. Halo 2 had to rely on Blizzard rallying not being a factor this year, if D2 is able to do this then what do you think the massively successful WoW will pull off? Throw in an MGS game in there and Halo 2 doesn't even have a chance.

As for Halo 3, I seriously believe we will see another 25-25-25-25 match when Halo 3/Fallout 3/L4D/Mass Effect comes along. If KOTOR can do this, Mass Effect can very well become another dark horse because they share developers. L4D has a very quiet but slowly growing userbase, I've said this many times in the past but L4D is going to make some noise.

2007 was a fluke year, MC and Halo are back to the same-old chokefests.

Honestly, I'm more impressed with KotOR's ASV than Halo's right now. It's hardly budging (%-wise) despite GAME FUEL gobbling up percentage and slashing its lead.

Plus, it's going to have the best "Why did they lose?" since DOOM and Sonic 3/Gunstar Heroes, so it'll win on all fronts.

Also, 30ish vote slice by the Chief. Just two or three more and the match will be tied.

I'm saying this now, since I predicted GTA: VC performing well. Diablo 2 will finish in first in a rout. Halo and GTA III will have an interesting battle for second, with Halo winning in the end.

I'm going to say I was 2/3rds of the way right on this match. Totally did not expect KotOR doing this well though.

It's on WoW to prove that it can rally though. I know the community isn't pissed off at it being a 16-seed and Halo-hate has gone down over the years, plus MGS3 and Okami are well-respected games that hit different demographics. None of them are SMB-level, but nothing about the match really encourages particular rallying like Starcraft's first three matches did. I mean, we've seen Starcraft go down a LOT this year and D2 -- while winning -- isn't exactly raising eyebrows in comparison to pre-contest hopes for Blizzard-supporters. WoW's got the numbers, but I'm not convinced it's got the will. I've got it advancing two rounds, but it's got to come out with guns blazing in R1 or else it's not going to look very good for its chances.

The general consensus is that Halo is going to take this and not look back, right? The ASV is going to bury KotOR far beyond any ability for any possible late push, or does the upset still have some faint hope?

I mean, I get 4 points if Halo gets back into 2nd, but the upset would be so worth it even if I can't see any way it happens now. Good run though.
