Yeah I'm putting my money on lightning to strike twice it really is just another Majora's Mask after all wouldn't you say <_<

I'll still take Twilight Princess over Kingdom Hearts. It's the only Zelda I've played that I actually like! And I think the hate on that game is being overrated.

I'm just happy to see Metroid Prime lose since the Metroid series in general in incredibly overrated to me

but Prime is by far better than the 2D ones. (I've only played Prime 1, though)

Ehh, I'm not expecting KHII > KH. That loss to FFXII in the 2006 GOTY troubles me too much to consider that.

And two people putting Metroid Prime > Halo > Vice City? How bad do you think Paper Mario is LFFing Prime, or do you think the three are virtually equal?

I wouldn't even look at that 2006 poll to mean anything. FFXII would've whomped on KH in the same fashion -- recency and being Final Fantasy will do that.

And yeah, I'd consider them all about equal right now. Not hard to believe that Paper Mario is holding MP back a couple percent.

Hard for people to consider GTA having any kind of strength even in the face of it not disappointing (very much) for once. I think more people will be open-minded if San Andreas ends up doing well or if VC gives MGS2 a fight.

I think I hold Halo in higher esteem than others here. I think it's probably stronger now than it was in 2004, same with Kingdom Hearts. Master Chief himself is stronger than he was in 2004, so it makes sense to me. I know people are probably judging Halo on the fact that MC disappointed relative to expectations last year, but I still think Halo will do well.

I'll have to see Halo do well before I believe it's strong. There's no Halo on the radar right now, which is usually when the series is at its weakest, and Halo 3 getting rocked by COD4 doesn't inspire much confidence in the series being any better now. We'll see how it does tomorrow.

San Andreas doing well in R1 wouldn't mean much. It's against three new games who, besides Oblivion, are kind of weak.

Hey, I saw people contemplating Oblivion > SA not very long ago (something I don't think is out of the question)! You can at least make some rough comparisons with Oblivion and Morrowind, even though it's a 99% certainty that Oblivion is significantly stronger.

I'd expect Fallout 3 to easily beat Metroid Prime, and Oblivion is probably closer to that then Morrowind.

GTAIII is kind of a long shot tomorrow, in my opinion, but after today, I can't deny the possibility. People have been saying that it could be stronger than Vice City, so if it is, it's in a good position to advance.

I'm kinda concerned Diablo might bomb tomorrow though, so we'll see.

I don't think this is so much KH doing well as it is Prime doing absolutely awful; VC currently has 40% on KH, better than StarCraft on FFVIII or MGS2 on FFX, and StarCraft/MGS2 both beat VC easily. With that said I like KH to advance next round, but mostly because the other options are unpalatable. VC (or Prime should it somehow come through) obviously aren't going anywhere, and MGS2's 38% on FFX does not inspire confidence either.

And saying this is the supposed Deboost in action...really? A Metroid game is flopping and that's used to condemn every Nintendo game in the last ten years, after we saw three standout performances last division from games that are only slightly older? That's like saying Mega Man 2's awful performance presaged the fall of all 2D Nintendo titles!

I don't think you can say Starcraft beats VC easily, or even at all. That was a pretty awful showing it had. If anything it should benefit from the format, and it was going against three PS1 games. Basically there's no reason it should have been closer to SC than FF8.

People seemed to have forgotten that all three Metroids flopped in the previous contest, in the series contest and Super Metroid went even with Super Mario Kart.

Metroid is not strong, Samus is strong because of Melee.
