SOMEBODY PLEASE SAVE METROID FRAKING PRIME!!! Though, in all honesty, this isn't as bad as the losses suffered by DOOM, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Half-Life. I mean, come on, Donkey Kong Country? Pokemon Gold/Silver? Final Fantasy IX? At least Kingdom Hearts and GTA have a lot of respect from me. BUT NO, SOMEBODY GET METROID PRIME OUT OF THIS ROUND, PLEASE!!! IT'S LIKE, THE BEST GAME EVER MADE!!! Actually, it doesn't actually contend for BEST, but it's top 25 in my book. Would smash Kingdom Hearts and GTA if it was my decision, though. |

Yeah,
I have FFX > MGS2 next round, but that's not lookin' so good at this
point unless FFX just obliterates KH. Looking at how Sora's done the

Yeah,
looking at it...San Andreas has a good shot at round 3 because it's not
like MGS3 and Halo 2 are going to be that much stronger than it, and SA

stalled it a little during the BSV, it'll probably do the same for the
ASV. Maybe gain a little. But there's no way MP is going to come back

best explanation is that Prime was never that strong in the first
place, and whatever damage Paper Mario might be doing to it is enough

Because
Metroid games aren't popular on Gamefaqs, and people just constantly
like to say GTA flops when it actually does have strength on Gamefaqs?
People just always overestimate it in the past so they assume its worse

Prime "only" got 56% against Half-Life in 2k4, and we've seen HL's

2004, so I couldn't see it being strong at all this time around. How did Metroid Prime "flop" when it got 45% on the Zelda game of its generation? Was it supposed to beat Wind Waker then, especially seeing how LttP murdered SM? GTA simply hasn't fallen as much as we thought it has. The
reasoning I took VC was I knew Starcraft and in turn MP was overrated
while VC had a great performance against Melee. It would take an epic
drop in strength for it to lose, though what pushed me over the edge

there are some small comebacks now. To be honest, I wouldn't care that
much about these comebacks for the fact that Metroid Prime loses to
GTA, so much as for the fact that Metroid Prime goes out in round 1. Do you think Metroid Prime would have advanced in Symphony of the Night's shoes? Or the other way around? |

Yeah,
there's only so positive a way you can spin this performance for either
entrant - KH is making mincemeat out of both of them. And even though
I'm one of the people still hanging on the "fanbase splitting matters"
train all the way until the end of the line - this is Paper Mario.
With the pic advantage, Nintendo not faltering so far this contest, and
after 45% on Wind Waker, 48% and falling on GTA: VC is all kinds of

GTA's
characters will never be as popular as the game itself. There's no
reason to think that. Vercetti dropping means that Vice City probably
dropped, too, and it did. Just not as much as we thought it would. Or we were probably overestimating Prime. We're starting to realize just how overrated StarCraft made Division 128. people went quiet. Also WW flopped to people's expectations. I'm talking about in retrospect though. If you want to say anything flopped, then it should be 1st Party Gamecube games as a whole. All of the 1st party flagship games are weak compared to other gens except for SSBM. WW, MP, SMS, PM2, Star Fox Ad/Ar, etc It's not really fair to take it out on MP. Oh, for some reason, I took that statement to mean that you were surprised that Vice City was getting as much as 40% on KH as if you were expecting it to do worse. My bad.
