It turns out that the Boost was actually solely comprised of hardcore Melee tourney players. When they found out Brawl had been designed for casuals, they showed their anger by anti-voting everything Nintendo has made since Melee.

To play Devil's Advocate, Vercetti was coming out of the Dead Hours, so Crono's got to look good against a lot of characters in that situation. Still, Vercetti at best did nothing with the Day Vote against Crono, which isn't good either.

Chief would have gone nuts on Crono in any year. Crono did lose a fair bit of ground to Mario with the day vote, but he didn't completely die like he did starting in 2006.

I still can't get over how much KH is rising with the night vote. You'd almost figure it would have to underperform with the day at this rate, except for the part where I keep reflexively hitting myself every time the thought crosses my mind.

My gut feeling is that Metroid Prime will stick to 2nd place and will show Vercetti's game what it deserves.

It's also quite surprising that people aren't saying that a whole lot of SFF is going on, considering that we saw tons of SFF blowouts last games contest.

And yeah Division 128 was screwed up. Let's look at every game in that division that made it into this contest.

Super Smash Bros. Melee - This game might have lost some of its luster now that a sequel is out.
StarCraft - How did it do so well last time?
Zelda: Wind Waker - Might boost seeing as a sequel is out and another one is on the way.
Final Fantasy X - GAME OF THE CENTURY, but I had Metal Gear Solid beating it.
Kingdom Hearts - Most definetely boosted.
Metroid Prime - This game is being ported to the Wii soon, so maybe it has a boost?
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - Is one of the most irrelevant games in today's gaming world that was in Division 128. Bye.
Halo - SHOULD KICK MORE ASS THAN LAST TIME AND I WILL BE VOTING FOR IT FOR TWO ROUNDS.
Soul Calibur - Sucked to a huge degree this year, compared to what the x-stats for the last contest say.
Half-Life - Why did this do so badly when the series' symbol was being shown right in the face?
Fire Emblem - How did this still make it this year?
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - My favorite to take 2nd in tomorrow's match.
Metal Gear Solid 2 - Dunno its true strength, really. Do you guys think it's stronger than the first Metal Gear Solid, as the x-stats from last time say?

I think this is more MP being weak than KH being strong, but of course KH has boosted a huge amount since 2004, when it was also weak. After seeing this, Kingdom Hearts vs. Super Mario Galaxy, who do you take?

VC closing in on the lead. I'll do one more Samus/Tifa comparison before going to bed:

From 3:36 to the end, Samus lost 0.78% on Tifa. VC is currently trailing by 1 vote, and Samus/Tifa projects it to win with 50.78%.

I think tran man said it before - Metroid (and Samus) have scarily even trends throughout their entire matches. It's up to VC faltering if/when it drops whatever lead it builds tonight.

Kingdom Hearts is pretty impressive right now. I don't know how much the day vote is gonna favor it, given how well its already doing, but it might have a shot at breaking 40% here. Good show.

I think I like VC to come in second. Something about Metroid winning the day vote seems off, but I'm not sure what its trends are. What did Super Metroid do during the day against Mario Kart?
