Final Fantasy VIII 29.49% 23 SoulCalibur 20.51% 16 Starcraft 35.9% 28 Xenogears 14.1% 11 TOTAL VOTES 78 Starcraft leads with board vote, but not by much. I could already call it for FF8 because of the board vote. --- Donkey Kong Country 2's path to Best Game Ever '09. Not even 10%? What is wrong with you people? Sooooooooo glad I changed my mind on this one. FF8 > Starcraft in Round 2 with or without Half-Life there. And before the OMG RALLYING bandwagon, remember two things. Starcraft got off to VERY fast starts in ALL of its 2004 matches, and the rally for Starcraft was hyped entirely because of that Halo match. If its first match wasn't a barn-burner against some universally hated title, things go much different. And this is WITH Xenogears there. I love this. Starcraft was very consistent in terms of votes in 2k4, and well, 40000

Final Fantasy game beating up on a PC game that excelled in a contest with low votals? Not really. Final Fantasy VIII is the top dog today. Ocarina is the huge dog tomorrow. Starcraft's obviously been on the downsing. Half-Life can easily be argued as being on the upswing. FFVIII is stronger than FFIX by what is looking like a pretty significant margin. Let's see how this next update goes, but the fact that FFVIII
convincingly won the board vote has me optimistic that this one is
