Some Common Stat Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote, because the Zelda fanbase so clearly sided with him. However, take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make total sense. This has caused a few SFF jokes, with LordOfDabu's "Some Frivolous Factor" being the funniest of them. X-Stats - Short form of Extrapolated Statistics, aka the mathematical "strength" of a contestant that can be determined based on their performance in any given matchup. See above for a detailed explanation of the x-stat process. rSFF (Reverse Same Fanbase Factor): An unproven theory that states that an SFF match will feature the expected weaker character receiving more benefit from SFF than the stronger character. For example, all evidence supports Samus being indirectly stronger than Mario, yet Mario blew Samus away during their 2005 match. That's rSFF in action, and the one case we have of the weaker statistical character winning with it. For other information, surf the contest sites a bit. Well i guess i was wrong about the 3 way battle for the qualifying spots. Seems MGS is assured first for this round. MGS hasn't hit top 10 status for me yet. it's top 15-20ish, but you
have to be able to smush second-tier Pokemon better than this. FFT
doesn't mean much to me, much like Perfect Dark didn't mean much
yesterday. this is a nice performance for MGS though. I just need to see more. --- xyzzy |

And my rationale for FFT was that Snake in Barlw would have little to
no real impact on the MGS games while FFT's PSP remake would keep it
from being weaker than it was. That and I believe Twin Snakes came out
right before the 2004 contest meaning MGS was at peak performance there. In retrospect, I should have realized what I've been saying about other matches, in that 2004 was the year of the anti-mainstream, which really would help FFT moreso than MGS. --- Like Darth Maul, the bastard child of Michael Flatley and Hellboy. -trancer1 |

I wouldn't call it top 10 yet either, but this does at least confirm
that its boosted and a top 15 kinda game, which is something I was
thinking it might not be before this match. Still not impressive enough

Well, we seem to be running out of top ten games. FFVI may have
performed itself out of it, and GoldenEye certainly did. Mario World
and Mario 64 did well, but not that
well. Granting the five obvious ones, RBY, and the general consensus
FFX and Melee, there's still two spots to fill. What else is up there,

Crono/Vincent 2007 projections (with your standard warnings about how this is probably irrelevant): Crono's percentage on Vincent at this time: 56.51% Crono's final percentage: 48.58% Percentage Loss: 7.93% GS's percentage on FFT at this time: 58.94% Projection based on Crono/Vincent: 51.01% GS has been losing ground faster than Crono since I last did this 20 minutes ago- its projection has moved from 51.61% to 51.01%. --- Link he come to town to win the Gamefaqs Contests. |

Yeah, I'm not sure what else I'd consider for the top 10 right now.
FFVII, OoT, CT, LTTP, SMB3, FFX, and Melee are the ones I feel
confident on. TP, MGS, and one other are probably ones that round it

Although I'd like to say that other one could be FFVIII, but we'll have
to see how tomorrow goes first. Not even sure what kind of performance

Aside from the obvious pic advantage, Snake is a far more casual heavy
character, so it makes sense that guys like him, Dante, Kratos (the
