I am stating facts here... Xenogears is a great great game and much better than Starcraft and Soul Calibur IMO. But I wouldn't bet it against FF8 and Starcraft. Because it is a fact that in this contest rare games get pummelled by well known ones. Hey, I'm not the one saying that FF8 will have no trouble pummeling Starcraft. you can find some of the originals in every game, I believe. you'll
find RBY Pokes in D/P, for example. think of it like Final Fantasy --
you'll find Cactuars and Marlboros and whatnot in every game, the only
difference is that you can catch them. all Pokemon games are pretty much the same, in the same sense that all Mega Man games are the same or whatever. the difference is that you've done it all before so it loses its charm, which is probably the majority of RBY's strength. --- xyzzy http://i42.tinypic.com/2vbwhn4.jpg |

FFVIII can still beat StarCraft despite Xenogears being there, just
depends on how much stronger FFVIII is over SC. Xenogears is gonna hurt
it, though, enough that it might end up a really close match. That'll

so I know what you've got later on in the contest, you didn't enter the
guru this year. No. I will not - at least not yet. I currently have 54 points - 58 points after today. Also, I will say this. 4 way contest law states that something ****ed up happens in the final. That is why I have Ocarina of Time taking Third in the final match. FFVII gets first. But who gets second? | Yes, Xenogears WILL hurt FFVIII. Sorry. Xenogears
is NOT fodder. FFVIII and SC are probably close in strength but
Xenogears WILL drag FFVIII down. FFVIII doesn't have a prayer at

The Tactics pic is meh, but then again there isn't very much else that
could represent it well. The only thing I can think of is the official

| I'm not saying Xenogears is fodder.. Just cause FF8 and Xenogears are Squaresoft games doesn't mean they have the same fanbase. Take the Squall/Sora/Yoshi/(If forgot the other one) match... even with Squall and Sora splitting votes... Squall totally owned Yoshi in that match... It may hurt FF8 a bit but not enough to tarnish it's chance at 1st place. I don't buy the SFF hype unless its a match like FF7/FF8/FF10/OoT match in which OoT will have a HUGE edge... but then again OoT may not be able to beat FF7 even with all that. |

Yeah, back in 2007, I would have finished in 10th place, but I
accidentally double voted in Vincent/Zelda/Tails/The Boss, so I was
disqualified for vote stuffing. I appealed, but legally, Bacon's hands

Oh and the same is fairly true of Halo, Kingdom Hearts and possibly
even Smash Brothers Melee. All of Starcraft's opponents after Halo were
counter-rallied in a very low-scoring contest, which put all of Division 128 out of whack in the stats. WIND WAKER is not worth like 48% on Melee indirectly. We'll see what it's worth in about a week! I think Wind Waker will hold up better than you think, but I still think Melee wins comfortably. So, uhh...
