RBY should be stronger than its series. By how much, I'm not sure. If anything, I'd bet on the opposite. Pokemon completely bombed in 2004 and impressed in 2006, but it did this as two different entrants. It makes sense for Pokemon the series to be stronger (more sense than a massive, across-the-board Pokemon popularity spike). The cartoon. The movies. The trading cards. The endless sea of merchandise. It has been - count Mario, count Zelda, count The Sims, count whatever you want - the biggest, most visible series for the past decade. Pokemon's not like Mega Man or Sonic.. there's a clear #1. there's
really only four Pokemon games. there's lots of spinoffs but, like

and I think you overestimate how big a favourite MM is: Majora`s Mask - 134 (62.04%) Pokemon R/B/Y - 81 (37.50%) Perfect Dark - 1 (0.46%) I'd think Pokemon would be a bigger fave with casuals, too. --- xyzzy http://i42.tinypic.com/2vbwhn4.jpg |

62% is a clear majority, and Zelda has a nice early vote as well. You
Pokemon supporters have been hyping this up like crazy. Some Board 8ers
are afraid for their brackets and will probably vote Zelda when they

Yeah, I mean, Pokemon R/B/Y is the NRT
Champion for this contest. SF64 and DKC2 were the NRT Runner-ups and I
think they each started stronger, plus Pokemon generally have come out

Even so, I know Perfect Dark is a bit different but it was still an N64
game in a match with 2 other N64 games and Pokemon. Either you put
Pokemon below what I consider it's range to be or you really like
Perfect Dark. Actually, that's a good question. HaRR, where would you put all these games strengthwise? --- I'm curious. |
