Yeah, but that was Zelda. This is Mario Kart and Star Fox. And Mario Kart lost the ASV to Mega Man in 2006. ... Admittedly, Fox has always had a good ASV, though. Mario Kart Vs. Megaman didn't have a ASV. Mario Kart did do a lot
better in the morning though which is typical of Nintendo generally --- A refusal of praise is a desire to be praised twice. |

I probably wouldn't have used the Series Contest to help me predict
matches before the Mario Kart games impressed, and I sure as hell

I think there's a combination of Mario Kart increasing and Mega Man
decreasing. Even with Mega Man 9 the character's becoming less relevant
and I could see him lose to the likes of Vincent, Squall, and Auron,
and perhaps even Bowser and Ganondorf. He's not nearly as pathetic as
Sonic since he's still getting the occasional good game, but he's

While yeah I agree with that, but I just don't see many people that
weren't voting for RE anyway jump ship from one of the other titles
just due to it being the remake. Right now, I'm sure a good chunk of

Oh. Summer match, that makes sense. I know that Mega Man keeps falling each year, but Mario Kart has to have boosted some to put up this kind of performance on FF7, even when being SFFed. Why would Mario Kart have to have boosted? Series =/= Games (and
Megaman having dozens more games than Mario Kart should count for
something series strength-wise), and we've never seen Mario Kart 64 in

So, based on this performance, what do you guys think is Ocarina's
Round 1 ceiling? It's up against clearly stronger competition, but I
think it has slightly more potential to demolish early round
competition than FFVII does. What would you think if it made a run at

know if it really matters what these two get in the first round because
we don't even really know how strong the games they're facing are.
They're capable of major blowouts on just about anything and

Really? You think Mario Kart has not boosted? Let us adjust for SFF here. Suppose that we remove Star Fox and Suikoden's from the poll. And say that 60% of Star Fox's votes go to Mario Kart, and that 80% of Suikoden's votes go to FF7. That would mean that Mario Kart would avoid a doubling by FF7, one-on-one, putting up around 33.8%. Is OoT's competition really that much stronger? CC certainly beats
Suikoden, but I'm not sure SF64 and MK64 would lose to FFIX and

I have no doubt FFIX throttles Star Fox 64, and Half-Life probably
beats it, too (Do you honestly think Star Fox 64 can get 44% on Prime
after a performance like this, SFF or not?). Mario Kart 64 is a
toughie, but the fact that Suikoden is by far the weakest game of the

You sure? I would think that Metroid Prime is stronger than Super
Metroid. I'm not sure how Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64 look

If Prime is stronger than Super Metroid (it's debatable, but I do favor
Prime), I doubt it's by much, and I doubt the strengths of SMK and
Mario Kart 64 vary that widely either. If Prime won that with more than
