| Why is everybody looking so much into the numbers? FF7 getting 45% instead of 55% really says nothing, because a lot of fans will support their second choice when their favorite is winning. If the 2nd and 3rd games are really close, the 1st placed game will suffer. That's why Sonic 2 got so few votes. |

| Why would 45% put FF7 at FF6 level? FF7 getting double the amount of votes of MK64 doesn't mean it's twice as popular. You would need a 1vs1 poll to really be able to tell the game's real strength. I think that FF7 is the best game out of these 4, and still I put my vote on MK64. Why did I do that? Because I feel that MK64 deserve the second place more than SF64. |

update for FF7? And on top of that, Suikoden gets another cut on SF64,
making it so that MK64's lead on SF64 is greater than SF64's lead on

| Maybe it's just Sony being generally strong in Europe. You can kinda see it in the PS3/360 comparison (the gap there is much smaller even with the 360 head start). Plus the N64 was kinda the start of the Nintendo decline. The effect was probably amplified in Europe. It should be interesting to see how the other Nintendo 64 games in the contest fare there. |

stronger than Star Fox 64, and I can't see YI being that much weaker

I'm also somewhat confused. BTW, are there any matches where the game

BTW, are there any matches where the game in last place DIDN'T get totally massacred? The one with Pong in 4th place. It got 16.54% of the vote. Not surprising considering the competition. Otherwise, most of the last placers are in single digits (some in the really low single digits at that). |

The night vote and early morning vote were characteristically unkind to Mario RPG, but it recovered with a strong vote the rest of the match. RE2 had a bad Power Hour, but a good night vote and a great early morning vote (RE2 and Mario RPG got the exact same number of votes during that time frame, FYI). DKC's best time was the morning vote, only time over 10%. I was checking out the results for the past polls, and damn...I got
completely blown away by just how badly some games did. Crystalis,

I'm so conflicted for this poll :( Haven't voted yet. FF7 is my favorite game ever and I think it's the best game I've ever played. But Star Fox 64 was so awesome! :) Lots of warm feelings for that game, I haven't thought much about in years. Probably haven't played it since 97, maybe 98. I think I'm going to have to vote for Star Fox. Almost certainly the only chance I'll get to vote for it. As for the match, like everyone's saying, this has been boringly expected - absolutely nothing of note. FF7's stock hasn't shifted at all. --- Save_Us.RAT BREAK THE BLOCK DOWN |

I used to call FF7 overrated but watching somebody play it on YouTube
told me otherwise, and it deserves all its praise, and deserves to do
well in a "Best. Game. Ever." contest, if for no reason other than the
fact that it brought many new people to gaming. I'm voting for GoldenEye in FF7's next match, though. |

Yeah, I haven't played through SF64 in years. I played it for a second
a few months ago and was horribly off. It's amazing how quickly you can
lose your skill at some of these games. You can always pick up an RPG
and replay it. Not necessarily the case for some of these action games. --- Proud Supporter of Zero |
