| SoM might just manage to pull a full comeback on
MK2, but the European morning vote should be diluted more since it's a
weekend and the Americans would also be capable of voting in the

My lord, Sonic. This is a new low. There's no excuse
for this. I mean, for Pete's sake, this is supposed to be his strongest
game, and there isn't even another Nintendo title in the poll. Two RPGs
and a gosh darned fighting game. I guess he bombs in any poll with more

I'm starting to think SMRPG has the least chance to advance and could very well get fourth despite "It's ****ing Mario." It's not like its competitors are mere fodder. I'd be scratching my head bigtime if Diddy was anywhere but in last
place by a long ways. My money's on DKC2 being weaker than the
original, and he's got two Nintendo games here that leave him
outclassed. Plus, look at that awful picture doing an awful job of

Looking at what has already happenned in this contest, I don't see
SMRPG losing in Round 1. GoldenEye, however, is a question mark. I know
it'll suck in this contest, but will it to the point that a) It loses
first to SMRPG and b) it also loses to RE2 thus not advancing? I kinda wished I picked SMRPG > GE instead of thinking "Well GE beat SOTN and got to the sweet sixteen so it'll easily get to R3". --- The Gamer In Me http://thengamer.com/guru/bracket.php?id=158 |

While I don't think Goldeneye or Mario RPG will outright cripple each other, the fact that RE2 is the only poll choice that isn't exclusively Nintendo (hell, it's on two Nintendo systems for good measure, as well) should help it. It's also definitely the strongest pre-4 Resident Evil title, and the original RE was behind double SFF in 2004. Goldeneye's a pretty atypical Nintendo game though, really all it
shares with SMRPG is being released on the same company's console. In
terms of fanbases I'd think it'd have more overlap with the RE2 crowd
personally. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, it promises to be interesting. My SMRPG>Goldeneye pick was one I'd been kicking myself for after brackets closed, but given Nintendo's (not to mention Square's) track record so far I'm a little more optimistic about it. --- SCCs completed: Thief, Samurai, Archer, Wizard, Mediator |

The great thing about the next match is that you could expect anything
to happen. Even DKC2 getting first wouldn't be very surprising (though
it'd definitely be the most surprising result). There's good reason to
expect any of them to advance, from Goldeneye's inherent strength, RE2
being from a strong non-Nintendo franchise, SMRPG being a Mario game,
and DKC2 having its predecessor resist SFF/LFF against one of the

Goldeneye or SMRPG are the only games that have a shot of winning the
next match. Second place though could be anything. Goldeneye is

So, since this place seems kinda slow, which division is/was, in your
mind easiest to predict? I've got to say the 01-03 division. Half of
the matches are super easy to pick (FFX>MGS2, SSBM>WW), one is
really only a debate for first (MP vs. KH), and the last one is a
crapshoot between three games (GTA3 vs. Diablo vs. Halo). Anyone care

Division 1 was probably the easiest for me, the only one I had to
really think about at the time was Ninja Gaiden v. Contra. Of course,
reading the board's thoughts of some of the matches made me second
guess a couple of them (DK v. Punch Out especially), but didn't switch
any. Got the perfect for that division, and I'm thinking it'll be my
only one (though hoping otherwise certainly. Really, I'd rank the
prediction difficulty in order from 1-8. As the games in question got
newer I got less sure of myself, not nearly as plugged in to what's
