Let's talk about this match instead then. Currently: Link's Awakening has 43.5% on Final Fantasy VI Mega Man X has 37.7% on Final Fantasy VI That compares to: Final Fantasy got 44.5% on Super Mario World Mega Man 3 got 41.10% on Final Fantasy IV Assuming FF1 = FFIV, Mega Man 3 would get 36.6% on Super Mario World This seems to suggest that either FFVI > SMW, LA > FFI/IV, and MMX > MM3, or SMW > FFVI, FFI/IV > LA, and MM3 > MMX. | Let's get real, here. What's CT projected to draw here? 50-60k votes, at least. Then, we have YI drawing something like 35-50k, then Lufia draws anything from 5-10k. What's left for EB to take there? Even if ALL of its fanbase pours votes into it, it could still run out of gas before YI. EB pulling the upset would be beyond Starcraft>Halo levels, and more into Frog>Solid Snake 2008 territory. |

FFVI > SMW, LA > FFI/IV, and MMX > MM3 This. Unless MMX overperformed tremendously and LA bombed, I can't see it happening any other way. |

| 58% is WAY too much. I love CT and all, but even the remake can't make it pull that percentage. 52% would be closer to what I'd give it. |

| I don't understand why people are placing CT so
far below LTTP's mark of 56%. LTTP may or may not be stronger than CT
now after 5 years and CTDS, but CTDS means it shouldn't be too much
stronger at least, and its competition was definitely stronger. Donkey Kong Country > Yoshi's Island Doom > Earthbound Streets of Rage > Lufia 2 Unless people think YI is stronger than DKC, or that LTTP SFF'd DKC hard enough that it was helped more by the SFF than it was hurt by the LFF, why wouldn't CT equal or beat LTTP's mark? --- Link he come to town to win the Gamefaqs Contests. |

| Good call. Hmm...considering their last matchup, let's say CT declined about 2% a year as people started caring less from it, but that the remake managed to pull more people in. Yeah, 56-58% sounds about right when you think about it, it's just that YI is probably going to do better than DKC, and EB is going to draw about as much as Doom, maybe more. Lufia is going to suck, though. >_< |

| SoM, SMRPG, SMK64 advancing is a given now. The only one in contention is the second one because of possible Sore Thumb Factor for RE2, but other than that, the matches are officially locked. |

I think even with RPG SFF, Lufia 2 will manage to score at least 7%. Not stellar, but it's not like it's a Genesis game. EB won't be completely humiliated due to its hardcore fanbase, but it won't do anything big either. I'd say 15-20%. YI should break 25% and maybe even 30%. CT will be in great shape if it breaks 50%. I know a lot of Mario fans who've claimed YI as their favorite and being one of the best Mario games, and it does have a GBA port and a DS sequel. Looks like Mana's chances got even slimmer. MKII's picture is just
awesome. Very nostalgic. I'm also liking RE2's a lot, and Mario Kart 64

Why on earth are you debating crap like Earthbound being worth a damn
or an even more obscure piece of crap being worth even more of a damn?
It's more likely that Lufia and Shining Force come third than either EB
or SoM advancing. I think we should be looking closer at that Goldeneye fourpack. RE2 and SMRPG both have a great chance to come second there, and hell, Goldeneye might wind up being a huge overrated bust. --- Like Darth Maul, the bastard child of Michael Flatley and Hellboy. -trancer1 |
