| The thing is, people are taking 2004 trends at face value, but look at the site back then compared to now. Much more hard-core oriented and a third of the votals. Same reason why Secret of Mana is going to completely job. |

DK is a dud in the ASV who lost it big to Duck Hunt of all things.
There is no reason for DKC to be doing better in the ASV then Zelda. Why is DK a dud in the ASV? Because he had epic failures against a Nintendo game (duck hunt) and Halo? Last I checked those things are usually beasts with ASV. --- all hail ec your lord and savior |

*FINALLY manages to log in* *Looks at poll* *Looks at previous updates* *checks DKC percentage twice* man what In two days, we've had a pair of matches that should have been SFFests, and both of them didn't work as expected (Okay, Sonic SFFed Gunstar Heroes and SM/SMK weakened Sonic greatly, but still). Does anybody get the feeling that SFF doesn't work on games in this format? DKC should be down to something like 10% considering its up with LttP, but its doubling that. I wonder if SFF is weakening or something... |

Plus as we saw this year, duck hunt did nothing in the ASV (though might of been hurt by sff, but still). Alright, well the point is it's only lost to other things in the ASV
that have been proven to be fantastic with it, or other Nintendo
titles. It's really not shocking that it's using it to it's advantage

Well yeah I didn't expect Doom to do much due to FF6 type of trends
last contest. But it just shows how bad its asv is if it truly is

No, he posted it because someone (I believe HaRRicH) asked him if
something was going on. The next time he posts about that will be when
he finds cheaters and removes votes. Yep, it was me. I'm siding with you here, but if people are still concerned then they should send him a feedback ticket about it. Until then, I'm assuming SB gave it a quick double-check, saw nothing, and carried on...and it's hard to blame him considering both games were wacky and 4chan couldn't successfully cheat. Assurance would be excellent, but I figure SB still went through the motions for this one since it was right after he looked into it about Battletoads. I was gonna post the same thing as Implicint, but he beat me to it. In
a 4 way match with a close battle for second many people are going to
stop voting for the game in first and vote for the game they want to
get second. That is why DKC and Doom might get more votes now. I'm
guessing 30 minutes from now DKC will be in the lead. --- You can't run away from trouble, there ain't no place that far. |

Or it proves that kids think DKC is a classic and that Donkey Kong as a
whole represents a lot more garbage bongo games then classics?
Obviously Super Mario 3 doesn't do better then Mario would do by

Really, who would argue elves > monkeys in the kiddy-demographic? This was a given! What kind of SNV is Doom expected to have? If it can count on that to come through, it's just a matter of keeping DKC close...though I doubt this board will let DKC lose if it goes to the final minutes. Oh man, Albion, pretty sure you're wrong there. If this goes into, say,
the last ten minutes, there is no doubt in my mind B8 will find and
"find" some fans real quick. DKC2 was the NRT-pick, DKC still gets mad

| I know the format is to blame for a lack of
excitement, but is there any other reason close matches don't seem
interesting anymore? If this were a 1v1 match in 2004, this topic would
fill up five times over. Personally, I blame T3H TRENDS and people being able to call final voting margins with stunning accuracy hours in advance. DKC was winning by a decent margin. Doom came back and then led by a small margin. DKC is coming back and will lead by a small margin. It just happens, this is how the day effects the vote.
