A good chunk of this is more than likely the board vote going
decisively toward MMX and LA, but the fact they're going to end up as
close as they are (unless FFVI takes off, which is a possibility)
probably means FFVI's taken a good dip. Nothing most didn't see coming

This is pretty much expected. FF6 has nowhere to go but up, and I
always figured MMX would have decent strength. The only surprise here

I thought LA would be about this strong. Back when I was a kid, this
and LTTP were the only two Zelda games for quite a while. (The earlier

Ocarina of Time will win this contest. We're only five minutes in, but I have no idea why this suggests that just as I had no idea people were so confident that LA was second-rate. I was accused of being blind to the facts, but it honestly felt to me that MMX supporters were citing only one poll (a six-year-old poll that should be thrown out) and the word "hand held" as their entire argument. They ignored LA's strengths. It has awesome sales numbers (spread across five years and two releases), had a five year stint alone in the Zelda spotlight, and actually IS loved by a pretty significant portion of the Zelda fanbase. This says nothing really about FFVII/OOT; FF1 and FF4 impressed also,
and it's not like Link's Awakening isn't a beloved game to a lot of

There's a difference between second rate and 45% on goddamn FFVI. Hell,

Well, I'll gladly give up more points yet again to see another favorite of mine in DKC advance! Go not-Super Metroid next round! And this match makes no sense now! MMX is doing about as well on FFVI as MM3 was doing on FFIV. It'll probably go up from here, but still. If MMX can't lead now, when it should be at its peak, I can't see it winning, as sad as that is. Still, what is this?
