I'm not sure if I'd pull the trigger on Metroid over Tetris.. I just can't see it getting 55% in that one poll. but Tetris is a weird beast anyway. So how about that SM / SMK / DKC threesome in round 2? I'm having a lot of trouble seeing DKC drop that match - even if SM and SMK are as strong as I want them to be, DKC's performance this match is just unreal to me. Eh, we still have a chance to get plenty more data on DKC. Can it hold
off Doom, if so does it hold up better than Metroid and Kart with Zelda

Which series is stronger, Megaman or Metroid? Before this contest, I'd
have said Megaman and I'm still hard pressed to say otherwise. SMK, not
the strongest game from a series Megaman beat easily, just came within
200 votes of beating Super Metroid, the strongest (or at least 2nd
strongest if you believe Prime is stronger) Metroid game. That ought to
be as valid a comparison as simply comparing Metroid to Megaman games

I think that's the point of his comparison - that games =/= series
(something we should have all figured out after the series contest, but
it's a nice recap). We just saw SMK nearly take down what is very
possibly the strongest Metroid game, and yet I'd be hesitant to put it

And now Doom is stalling, maybe for real this time. Perhaps it will win
EUROPE, and we'll have a match on our hands. Zelda is rising steadily
and quickly, and is getting pretty close to 55% already- nice recovery

I'm still hesitant to call this one over. Doom to me screams that it's
going to win the casual XBox styled ASV (there seem to be two ASV
blocks-- one that favors Nintendo more and one that favors XBox stuff
more) over DKC by a decent margin. The morning and part of the ASV goes
to DKC, but the later part of the ASV and perhaps the dead hours/during
school vote seem like they should go to Doom. Those Doom trends are 5 years old anyway, I'd be hesitant to trust them for that fact alone. --- So I lost a bet to creativename (yeah...hardly shocking). Like usual, I should've known better! FACT: Halo 3 was 1000% responsible for Master Chief's boost. |

DKC2 doesn't exactly have to defy logic to be weaker. While it is an
undisputed fact that DKC2 is the better game, DKC1 sold better and was
much more important historically. Also, DKC1, for better or worse,

Top tier games are still subject to trends too. They ebb and flow with
the night and day as the different demographics get around to voting,
