the one argument I'll accept is that early voters tend to be
conscious of the fact that LTTP votes are wasted and vote DKC instead;
if that's the case, the SFF may come into play later. but I really
don't think SFF exists in this fourway format unless it's between two
games of the same series or something. What's so wrong with my "lingering rallied votes" theory? It makes sense. There was a huge surge then DKC fell flat. All those guys cashed out now we've got the real match. And the real match has DKC struggling to put distance in the power hour "gg DKC" --- So I lost a bet to creativename (yeah...hardly shocking). Like usual, I should've known better! FACT: Halo 3 was 1000% responsible for Master Chief's boost. |

So with SFF seemingly not a factor in a lot of these matches, and with
LttP apparantly disappointing (I still don't see it), how are you guys
feeling about tomorrow? --- Like Darth Maul, the bastard child of Michael Flatley and Hellboy. -trancer1 |
red sox 777 | Posted 4/15/2009 9:27:08 PM | message detail |
But the poll just started and ALttP shouldn't crush the DKC early
vote as much because early voters are more aware of the fact that a
vote for ALttP is wasted. Yeah, I agree with that. Hmm....a check of percentages shows that DKC is now down to 53.69% on Doom. 56% was at the limits of what it is possible to swing. 53.69% not even half an hour into the match? That is doable. --- Link he come to town to win the Gamefaqs Contests. |

So with SFF seemingly not a factor in a lot of these matches, and
with LttP apparantly disappointing (I still don't see it), how are you
guys feeling about tomorrow? Bad. I'm still thinking Zelda:LA will beat MMX (I have FF3>MMX), though MM3's performance kinda still gives me hope. Then I remember the series contest (Zelda>MMX). --- The Gamer In Me http://thengamer.com/guru/bracket.php?id=158 |

DKC will be a much better day competitor than Metroid. Think about it.
if most of the people on the site are in the 16-18 range right now,
most of them would have been 4-5 years old when DKC was popular. They
weren't even born when Metroid came out. DKC was a really popular game
that was targetted at all ages. Doom was something a lot of these kids
probably never played. DKC will win the day vote handily. --- Like Darth Maul, the bastard child of Michael Flatley and Hellboy. -trancer1 |

the entire video game industry! They're ruining the integrity of this
contest because they're not Square games! You make it sound like it's Nintendo doing this instead of the reality of the situation which everyone seems to forget. MK64? I've got it coat tailing FFVII until it goes up against SM64 and

As much as I'd like to jump in on the inanity of people arguing with
people that are clearly agreeing with them, turning attention back to
the match at hand... ...DKC's gains are getting smaller, but they're consistent and Doom hasn't really threatened to cut yet (very *unlike* Scorpion/Gordon I). And DKC seems like a better day vote competitor, so I'd call it a pretty good favorite at this moment. As for LttP... maybe other people's expectations were tempered, but seeing how Zelda I and the SMB brothers destroyed their generations like so much flotsam, I was hoping for a similar performance out of the best 2D Zelda - especially considering it's the game with the best chance for coming ahead of FF7 this contest. Instead it's looking like it might be vulnerable to losing its finals spot to SMB3 (which ironically gives OoT a better shot at beating FF7 instead). --- turnturnturn your brain in turnturnturn your brain in |

definitely on the track to 55% and maybe even 60%, and it's not like
