Heh, and people called me stupid because I figured Doom would be far
too weak to take advantage of the triple Nintendo SFF. Looks like DKC
has some legitimate strength if it is able to advance here with the

The difference is Master Chief has a notoriously heavy day vote, while
Doom seems like way more of a night-hawk. I don't feel like checking

Let me say this again: Lingering Super Mario Kart/Super Metroid rallied people. Expect DOOM to prevail. I wasn't joking. DOOM should stem this bleeding pretty fast. --- So I lost a bet to creativename (yeah...hardly shocking). Like usual, I should've known better! FACT: Halo 3 was 1000% responsible for Master Chief's boost. |

sorry, I believe in brackets more than anything. Doom might make it
interesting but let's call DKC the favourite until it, yknow, wins an
update. the one argument I'll accept is that early voters tend to be conscious of the fact that LTTP votes are wasted and vote DKC instead; if that's the case, the SFF may come into play later. but I really don't think SFF exists in this fourway format unless it's between two games of the same series or something. --- xyzzy http://i42.tinypic.com/2vbwhn4.jpg |

Remember, these games are all at least 15 years old. As we get into the
next 2 divisions, you'll see Nintendo falter, then completely suck by

What is with this Nintendo hate; if you love melee as much as you say
you do, ulti, you should never betray the company that allowed for it

Doom is probably doomed, but not so far gone that we can't talk about
it coming back. The idea that LTTP's presence will weaken these games'
ability to move with the day vote is a very minor factor if a factor at
all, and very often overstated in this topic: LTTP also crushes their
night votes! And in any case, LTTP's day vote isn't that great- it went
50-50 with Chrono Trigger during the ASV. Even in 2004, that's an

| red sox, I'd agree if it was like 6am already. But the poll just started and ALttP shouldn't crush the DKC early vote as much because early voters are more aware of the fact that a vote for ALttP is wasted. |

One thing shouldn't automatically make him a super popular character if his body of work is still mostly meh for most people. Plus, character design, yadda yadda. Hmm, that big jump was Gordon/Scorpion I-esque in comparison to what's
happening right now. Considering that the SFF is certainly less
pronounced right now (and it *is* SFF, unless we're expecting current
LttP to struggle with FF6) than it will be later on, Doom should have a
