Ownership stats from GameFAQs and predicted percentages: Gunstar Heroes - 83 - 5.26% Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - 368 - 23.32% Super Mario Kart - 538 - 34.09% Super Metroid - 589 - 37.33% Number of raters from GameFAQs and predicted percentages: Gunstar Heroes - 75 - 6.54% Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - 284 - 24.78% Super Mario Kart - 338 - 29.49% Super Metroid - 449 - 39.18% I think this is the sort of match where those numbers should hold up pretty well. The only thing certain is Gunstar coming in 4th. The SM/SMK split will be interesting. --- ~Jacksonville Jaguars~ |

Its a shame that Gunstar Heroes has to be in this match with Sonic. I
would love to vote for it to give it a decent showing, but I can't vote
against Sonic. Hopefully it can beat Crystalis and PoP scores at least. |

Round 1 - Division 3: Match 1 Gunstar Heroes You know, it always surprised me how poorly this (awesome) game did in 2004. It doesn't make sense for it to be that weak. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Sonic game #2, can it continue Sonic's first good contest showing in ever? Super Mario Kart After a disappointing killing (that was not surprising in the least) at the hands of Mega Man in the series contest, SMK has a lot to overcome in this match. And Koopa > the rest. Super Metroid Outstanding game, and probably the strongest in this match. Analysis: We have a very interesting situation here. The natural assumption is that Super Metroid and Mario Kart will cripple eachother enough for Sonic 3 to dominate first place, putting it in a good position to get to the division finals. The only problem (aside from Gunstar Heroes limited SFF) is that it has been shown that Nintendo and Sonic seemingly overlap in the past. That puts an interesting spin on this match that while still having a clear-cut favourite (Sonic 3 > Metroid), there's enough room for doubt to keep it interesting, especially if it winds up being a relatively close match. Persoannyll, I think the Sonic SFF is a bit overplayed and that was just Mario World's legit strength. Expect Metroid to peak overnight and Sonic to put his patented day vote to the task. TuRtLe's Prediction: Sonic 3 35%, Super Metroid 30%, Super Mario Kart 20%, Gunstar Heroes 15% TuRtLe's Bracket: Sonic 3 > Super Metroid TuRtLe's Vote: I want to vote for Metroid here, but I can't go against Gunstar Heroes --- Like Darth Maul, the bastard child of Michael Flatley and Hellboy. -trancer1 |

Had a feeling this would happen as well. If this result holds out, it
spells disaster for Sonic and Mega Man the rest of the way. This is the
