Pfft, Phantasy Star 4 will surprise everyone and hahaha sorry I can't even joke about a non-Sonic Sega game advancing. What is there to really debate concerning MMX/LA? They're both untested as hell, MMX has good reason to be strong despite its brethren bombing, LA has good reason to be strong despite being a handheld game. I certainly can't make a good judgment call here. On a site where the turd that is FF1 can perform well, based almost
entirely on name value? Absolutely. The only Zelda game that I would
hesitate to put over any Mega Man game is Four Swords Adventure. ...just 4SA? Not the original Four Swords? FF1 has more than name value Get over it people --- So I lost a bet to creativename (yeah...hardly shocking). Like usual, I should've known better! FACT: Halo 3 was 1000% responsible for Master Chief's boost. |

Metroid and Samus have the most even trends in contest history. where
it starts is where it will end unless it gets a big board vote, but I

Uh, it doesn't matter how many options were in the poll. If anything,
this Zelda Franchise Voting you've been going on and on about should've
made those games thrive there. Minish Cap lost to Call of Duty 2, Mario Kart DS, and Star Wars: Battlefront II, and Phantom Hourglass lost to God of War II, failed to double Ratchet and Clank, and nearly lost to FFT: WotL. Not exactly stellar. --- http://thengamer.com/guru/ |

this is where you tell me that Link's Awakening is some kind of
handheld god, something I've never even come close to hearing, or you
bring up its sales as if they matter. (all notable handheld games have
big sales -- this is like arguing that NSMB would beat MMX because it
sold a trillion copies.) Link's Awakening is a full tier below the Wind
Waker / Majora's Mask bunching. let's stop pretending otherwise. Ok, so forget the name and forget the sales numbers and let's just stick with handheld vs. console because it's nice for your argument. Forget the fact that LA was the most recent Zelda game for five years and the fact that Mega Man games have yet to impress so far. Console vs. handheld, argument over. You're doing everything people are accusing me of doing (ZELDA). hey, you're the one who started it off by calling everyone stupid for thinking otherwise! The X > MM favorite series poll is a good piece of evidence and
enough to make me think MMX is the strongest game in either series
(I've been arguing that since we began to talk about which MM game we
should get into the next games contest). Unfortunately, I don't think
it's by a very wide margin, and it's not too hard for me to envision LA
bettering both MM2 and MM3's performances (although, like you said, 3's

I'm not really sold on Link's Awakening. I think it gets crushed harder
than MM3 today at least. Don't really think MMX necessarily has to be
stronger than MM2/3 to win that. Think the Zelda name can only take you
so far especially when other big franchises are in the poll. Oh, also, I think Mega Man games will look better in comparison when tougher games are around. Mega Man's never been a huge blowout guy aside from 2002. (poll link I posted was a joke by the way) --- So I lost a bet to creativename (yeah...hardly shocking). Link's Awakening was on top of the NP power charts until Pokemon came
out. Lots of people are underestimating how popular the game was at the

I wasn't trying to downtalk anyone. I skipped the bracket making period and was legitimately shocked when I found out that MMX was the favorite. I was really interested to find out people's reasoning, but it just didn't strike me as compelling enough for such a pick, so I just pointed out why (never really losing my sense of shock that MMX was favored).
