Doom would have to be really weak to not benefit from LttP SFFing two Nintendo games and those said games LFFing each other. Well we've at least learned alot about Sonic today; He still has
strength if facing non Nintendo opponents, but he will fold like crazy

Alright, Ms. Aran survived the two voting blocks I figured were
probably the biggest danger to her. She'll probably spend the next five
hours slowly building her lead to endure whatever the ASV brings. Even
if Mario Kart stages another rally, I'd bet on the board and the power
of BRACKETS keeping her in first. Once again, though, Doom couldn't

I've liked Metroid for a while here, but this match has some of the

Vote totals are lagging behind again for today. Compared to the FF/SMW
match, we are about 9000 votes behind that match at this point in time.

Actually, on closer look it's just an anomaly. Combination of Mario

Wow...I looked at the poll and was completely surprised that SM was
beating SMK. And then I came into the stats topic expecting everyone to
be surprised with me...but it seems like everyone though SM would win

I actually figured Mario Kart would be stronger then Metroid! after
Metroids pathetic showings last contest (barely beating a PC FPS and
getting slaughtered by SFF), I didn't have much faith in Metroid games

Sonic 3&K is awesome, but I didn't even play it fully until a few
years ago. I mean, I played Sonic 3 back when it was released and beat
it, but it felt like a complete step backwards from Sonic 2. Then when
they released Sonic & Knuckles a little later, I was already in
"meh" stage, not aware that the two were actually meant to be one game.
I didn't find out about the two being one complete game until I started

Oracle of Seasons/Ages did a better job at being two solid stand-alone

Europe still seems to have the upperhand in this match. Given that this
is a weekday match, there should be a lower ratio of American voters to
European voters since a lot of the kiddies are still at school. If this
was a weekend match, the ratio of American voters to European voters
would be higher and Super Metroid would probably be pulling away from

Looks like both Super Metroid and SMK are doing similarly well right
now in whatever voting window it currently is, while Sonic's falling

The day vote looks about even so far; the ASV has been really weak so
far this contest (possibly due to Spring Break?), so there probably won't be any major shifts there. So, I'd give a slight advantage to Super Metroid, since it still has the lead. you don't go from 120 votes cut in 5 updates to now losing votes, sff or not Yes, yes you do. If they're going to stall out like this, at least do it further away
from 50/50! Metroid might be on top, but if there's no trend and its
this close, nothing says Mario Kart can't steal the lead away at the
