Or FF1 could make a run. Again, I cannot ever see FF4 breaking 40% on Mario 3. Certainly possible. I think a lot of people are grossly underestimating the amount of
overlap SMB3/SMW will have. Sonic 1 might even be there, and that
overlaps with the Marios more as well (though it'd be crushed there and

If you want to talk about not being relevant, you don't need to look much further than FF1 -- a game that did
break 40% on SMB3. Not all of it was name, but you better believe most
of it was. FFIV has that and then some. Both of these games are bottom
tier FF games in this contest, too. Final Fantasy games are just really

FF4 will win because people actually seem to be voting for game quality
over just brand name, as Castlevania 3's horrid performance shows (even

Why would you expect FF1 and FFIV to hold up against FFIX? They don't have the play rate or
the legit fanbase to hold up against a loved 3D FF game. With FFXII, I
could see them getting votes from people who just don't like it, but

I wasn't counting any FF games that didn't make the contest, mostly
because we've got all the Final Fantasy games that would be worth
having in here. FFII, FFIII, and FFV would definitely be weaker than

At this point in the match, vote totals are ahead by about 2500
compared to this exact point in the match yesterday. That's a good sign

To clarify, I meant crush 1v1 -- I don't see much reason for FFIX not
to, and I'd expect FFIX to be the second weakest 3D game behind FFXII.
Indirectly, the strengths probably aren't too wide, but I'd still
expect FFIX to be ahead of FF1 by a good bit. And then FFVIII to be an

FF9 I would expect to easily beat FF1 or FF4. Crush? No, but it
wouldn't be too close either. Indirectly.....well, seeing as FF1 is
worth 40% on SMW, FF9 doesn't have that much room to be a lot stronger
