I think they're pretty close together as well. I just can't see that

We'll see. I'm not putting any faith into a game based on Gordon

Not trying to be condescending, just wondering what you're basing this off of. I know the Valve fanbase, and while HL is loved, HL2 is *loved*. Half-Life 2 has never been a powerhouse in any poll we've seen it in.
No reason to think it significantly builds on HL1 getting 43% on
Metroid Prime 5 years ago. I still think Half-Life is just as

Half-Life 2 came out in November 2004. And since then, you've had Episode 1 and The Orange Box. Gordon should be even stronger since then, as should HL2. --- Good Times, Great Memories |

Still, that Half-Life poll up against Metroid Prime still lost pretty
handily (I'm not too sure how old the poll is in relation to the series
however), but even though Half-Life 2 definitely revived Gordon.. You'd
think the series would have made a better match against Prime besides

Still, that Half-Life poll up against Metroid Prime still lost
pretty handily (I'm not too sure how old the poll is in relation to the
series however), but even though Half-Life 2 definitely revived
Gordon.. You'd think the series would have made a better match against
Prime besides getting what HL already got on it years prior. I think HL's performance was inflated due to lower voters and all the 128-Bit Division matches being relatively close for some reason, which is why I still take MP>HL2 despite saying HL2 would 60/40 HL. --- http://thengamer.com/guru/ |

I know this seems pretty obvious,but how strong was Gordon Freeman in this last games contest? Didn't it take a fairly early exit? And to whom? Uh...Gordon narrowly lost to Scorpion in R1 (which it wasn't even supposed to be close), easily beat him in R2, and managed to beat SFFd Ganondorf in R3 (for 3rd place, but a moral victory is a moral victory). --- http://thengamer.com/guru/ |

To let everyone know where L4D stands in the Valve fanbase. The game is slowly getting more and more popular. Obviously the game sold very well, but in the Valve fanbase itself the game is starting to become really supported. I'd also take L4D over them. Maybe not on a PC oriented site, but
Gamefaqs is more console oriented and L4D is bigger there then those

Oh wait, yeah, I was about to say I can see L4D putting up a good fight with Team Fortress 2. It won't stand a chance against Portal though. Portal isn't only loved by Valve's fanbase, but it has become an internet meme/fad and is loved by just about everyone. --- ertyu is actually a language.
