SF2 was a solid mid carder in the 2004 stats. People are looking too
much into it losing round 1, since Super Mario RPG finsihed VERY strong

Street Fighter II (2004g) VS Tetris (2004g) Street Fighter II has a strength of 26.49. Tetris has a strength of 20.75. Street Fighter II wins with 60.83% of the vote! A win of 18,688 with 86,244 total votes cast. The 2D Sonic games are the most popular
ones. That's not even saying much. And looking at how SMB did, Sonic 1

I voted for Contra as I really liked playing that game. Though on my bracket, I voted for Adventures of Zelda. --- Chrono Trigger is the greatest RPG ever made. |

| I think SFII will win the match as well mainly because of SFIV which will almost certainly give it a handy boost...it won't be a blowout but Sonic 1 won't be too close for comfort either. I don't think it will get to the last 8 though, instead I have FF4 doing the exact same thing from that division. |

I still see nothing pointing to SFII being a powerhouse. It's one thing

| If FF4 gets through round 2 (a lot more likely thanks to Mega Man 2's weak showing) I think it will beat SFII in the division final. Definitely one of those two is going to be the surprise entrant in the semis. |

Assuming no SFF between CT and Mario RPG (unlikely, I think there was a
little there), SFII is worth 28.8% on Chrono Trigger in 2004. Assuming no SFF between Sonic 2 and SMW (yeah right), Sonic 2 is worth 24.13% on Chrono Trigger in 2004. Without doing any math, and assuming a little SFF between CT and SMRPG and a lot of SFF between Sonic 2 and SMW...I think this puts Sonic 2 a little bit above Street Fighter II in 2004. Indirectly. Sonic 1 is going to be weaker than Sonic 2. Strike 1. Sonic games have become less and less relevant over the years, haven't had many rereleases, and the series in general is a laughingstock these days. Strike 2. Sonic performs like ASS in four-ways. Strike 3. Street Fighter II has had a bajillion rereleases, is still played today, and SFIV's rave reviews and great sales show that the series is still respected and popular. Or maybe, just maybe, people would understand that Sonic and Mega Man
are pretty much Nintendo characters, and they would get SFFed by
stronger Nintendo characters/games. And using 2004 stats to prove anything in the present day just goes to show how stupid you actually are. Nothing from before 2006 should be used to prove anything. If you have a worthy argument, you can use present day findings, or findings that aren't so completely irrelevant that it makes you a laughing stock just by bringing them up. --- ertyu is actually a language. But yeah, I agree 2004 stats probably aren't that reliable; since Sonic was actualyl relevant back then.
