Sure were big when I was in college! :) Seriously, most people here find them lame, irritating, and 99% of the time unfunny...just accept that. Hey why are people banned from viewing the match pics? There's a possibility of any game we haven't seen before bombing, but
the thing about Tetris is that we all saw it bomb as soon as it was up
against a game people cared about. Most of us thought Mega Man 2 would
also be such a game, and a fat LOL in our general direction is the

Suck in these formats? Sonic would suck nowadays in any format, I thought we established that long ago. There's no way to say for certain if Sonic's fall was from the format or from Sonic's strength taking a dive since we haven't had another 1 on 1 contest. I think most people think Sonic dropped at least a bit but some people are giving him the benefit ot the doubt that the bulk of the drop was caused by the format. --- Shall I take you with me? Sonic is not going to flop. Sonic 1-3 especially have every reason to

| I meant contest strength wise. The people who visited GameFAQs still remember Mega Man 2 back in 2002. Few people do anymore. There was a sizable demographic shift around 2005-2006, when old characters who fail to put out significant games anymore (Mega Man, Sonic, Crono, etc.) started gradually losing strength. They have not stopped bleeding since. |

And if anything, this match tells me that games like Link's Awakening that run on franchise voting are in trouble. Mega Man may be falling, but he's still a Top 15 character, easily. I wouldn't take those games over any of Sonic 1-3, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it happened, especially after seeing MM2 today. still can't come up with any reasons outside of "Brawl." What are
Sonic's reasons for strength that Mega Man doesn't have? ...Furries? Being sort of serious here. Sonic draws a strangely dedicated internet fanbase dedicated to him, no matter how much his new games suck. I don't really see that for Mega Man. --- FastFalcon believed in Snake. I didn't. |
