Unless people vote on characters, I think Pac-Man is a stronger game than Donkey Kong. And I'm pretty sure this match is over. i'd argue that DK > Pacman, and Space Invaders > Pong ... Pac-Man and Pong would destroy those two games on name value alone. | People not terribly familiar with either game (or
of the mentality that both are outdated garbage) will base their votes
on the character. And the "Donkey Kong is a better character than Pac-Man" votes will most likely beat the "Pac-Man is a better game than Donkey Kong" votes. Then the "Donkey Kong is a better game than Pac-Man" votes enter the picture, and there's a definite amount of those out there too. --- My nick's Adamant. I have a "no 1" that looks stupid. Would've changed it if I could without losing karma. So it's Adamant, not Adamanto or Adamantno. |

Time to DPS my Tank with some DOT Strangely enough, DK is winning the ASV right now. Go figure. There's a first for everything... Not surprising if you look at the competition. Like I said, with games this old, name recognition is the biggest thing with the kiddies. We'll see Oregon Trail get absolutely demo'd tomorrow during the ASV, like sub-5% consistantly. |

If they're gamers they've played some kind of Pac-Man or at least know of his existance. Of course they know of his existance. They know of Donkey Kong's existance, too. Dude, it's Donkey Kong. That's why Pac-Man is king of the apathy votes, but since your opponent is a game that they've never played the game they've played seems to be the obvious choice. Their opponent is a game with a character they most probably like better than Pac-man. "Game I've never played with character I like" wins over "game I've played and didn't like". Pac-man wins the apathy vote if the other games are unknown, but when the game has such a well-known main character, it gets votes for that despite not having been played by too many kiddies. More kiddies have played Pac-man than Donkey Kong, but more kiddies will vote Donkey Kong for having the Donkey Kong name, since they don't like Pac-Man. --- My nick's Adamant.
