After initially making my bracket a month ago, I finally went back to
it and made a few changes, especially with the latter semifinal. I went from Brawl > MGS4 (wtf) to FFX > Brawl (still wtf but not as much so) and went for the ultimate Brawl > FF7 upset (lmao I'm ****ed). I can't phrase this any way without sounding like I'm insulting the
intelligence of the GameFAQs user base, that's not my intention but
here it goes anyway - I'm slightly paranoid about voters not making the
connection that in this contest, Final Fantasy II = American Final
Fantasy IV, and Final Fantasy III = American Final Fantasy VI. I'm
presuming the roman numerals of the American game will be in
parenthesis come match time, but I'm hoping there's not much confusion
over it. I don't see American Final Fantasy II and III doing well in

OK, so which Mario games make it in to the first quarterfinal? World,
3, or OG? My heart tells me OG and world, but it's possible that 3
overtakes World. I have World getting out along with LoZ, but it could

Most people have all 3 for the epic LoZ v Mario v Mario v Mario. Some
see World getting wiped off through SFF. Those are the only options. I
went with SFF and also FF SFF in Round 2 to push MM3 into Round 4. --- Proceed. |

Character Battle 1 had Serious Sam vs. Mr. Driller. I think every character in last year's character battle could beat either of those guys. |

As for the other division, SMB3 is the stronger of the two Mario titles and I can see some leeching going on there. Tanner wasn't really a solid character in that game, those that played it likely didn't recognize him. Samus vs. Sonic Mario vs. Cloud Mario vs. Crono Sephiroth vs. Mega Man Hell, even Sephiroth vs. Samus was good For heaven's sake, DK vs. Aya Brea had everyone in an uproar. Being the first year, we were also just genuinely giddy and flipped out over any upset. Remember Morrigan/Spyro? So awesome. While Spring 2004 was a great contest, I think we all just remember Starcraft and slightly overrate the contest as a whole. Apart from Starcraft, there really wasn't a single big surprise result in that entire bracket. Remember that the BOP was perfect until we hit Starcraft, and this was our first games contest. Too predictable. Also, apart from Starcraft once again, each division only had one good match. 2002's amazing last week makes you forget how absolutely boring the
first six were. I guess you could say that about 2004 too but I found
