Yes, because Ms. Pac-Man is equivalent to Pac-Man the video game which cleanly beat a game that equals Duck Hunt. I don't expect Pac-Man to get any less than 20% against Mega Man II in a direct match. Anyway, some interesting stuff about Perfect Dark: - It's projected to get about 56% on G/S/C without accounting for Xenogears/FF7 SFF and Goldeneye/OoT SFF. I kinda see these two games as suffering about the same amount. - In that case, you also must account for Pokemon being a lot bigger than it was in 2004. This makes G/S/C probably get in the mid 40's. So how much bigger is R/B/Y than G/S/C? Well, looking at the list, I'd say that's the only thing pointing to R/B/Y clearly being above G/S/C. I suppose Pokemon R/B/Y > PD in a direct match, but I'm not sure how LFF even plays here. It may be the only mature game, but three N64 games do hurt. --- *is Dranze* Through fire, justice is served because FastFalcon05 owned my bracket. |

when it comes to that era and you're not popular, franchise votes can easily kill you. Though if Pac-Man can break 30% on Metroid, why couldn't it outlast even 20 or 25% on Mega Man II? Though if Pac-Man can break 30% on Metroid, why couldn't it outlast even 20 or 25% on Mega Man II? Because no one likes the original Metroid. Mega Man 2, in contrast, is a stellar experience even today. Not to say Pac-Man is guaranteed to get/not get a certain percentage in that match, but that Metroid match means nothing outside of how much franchise votes can do alone. --- turnturnturn your brain in turnturnturn your brain in |

I dunno how high MM2 will get, but in comparison to Pac-Man.... I can't
see it getting any less than 20%. Farthest maybe a couple of points. If Pong can avoid a tripling from Tetris, I figure Pac-man can avoid a quadrupling from Mega Man. --- *is Dranze* Through fire, justice is served because FastFalcon05 owned my bracket. |

Pokemon R/B/Y does have some stand-out ability as the most loved
handheld game in a sea of N64 games, but they're still Nintendo systems
from the same time-frame and it still has Pokemon against a major
LoZ-game. PD will also stand out as the only FPS-game and certainly the
most mature of them. PD is going to have way more LFF overlap with Zelda than Pokemon does. Pokemon has broad appeal beyond the standard Nintendo demographics, and was also on the Game Boy, which everyone and their dog had; the N64 was pretty much restricted to diehard Nintendo fans, whereas a whole lot of Final Fantasy and MGS-loving Sony fans had a Game Boy with Pokemon on it. Also, Oregon Trail to round 3! |

much. Who did you take in MMX/LA in round 2 (tied) or the first match of round 4 (SMB3 is the favourite for both 1st and 2nd)? FF3 > MMX Choosing LA in Round 2 isn't even an option since it's supposed to be eliminated in Round 1. I haven't decided on what to do if LA takes the lead for the Round 2 match. The only certainty I can find about Tetris is that it destroys other
classic gaming titles. It destroyed Pong and Galaga in 2004 and I
predict will do the same to Space Invaders in it's four-pack (giving it
the easy first finish). I agree with the statement that any other
classic NES title hurts it and Mega Man 2 will make quick work of it.
Yes, it's paired against two NES titles in it's R1 match but we all
know DK is a choker and Punch-Out is untested as far as NES titles go. It's gone the second Zelda1 and SMB1 enter the picture. --- Today's Subliminal Thought Is: |
