Although people suspected that CT won't do so well in Europe, I'm not sure that people believed that the disparity would be quite so dramatic. It seems like CT isn't all that strong in Asia, either, although the strength of FF7 there is simply amazing. All of it makes the NA strength of CT all that much more interesting.

CT did decently in Asia- it's just that FFVII's strength there is absurd. I mean, from the looks of it, Zack would beat Link 1v1.

It's hard to take these numbers too seriously given the extremely low votals.

I'm amazed how despite the UK loving Dragonball more than Asia itself that Crono bombs there so horribly. Yes, I know CT was never released there, but look at ****ing Kratos in the UK. If Kratos can do that well on character design alone, why can't Crono in a country that enjoys Dragonball? Even the CT remake isn't as popular as the FF4 remake there.

I just find it weird that Crono is fodder to the UK even when you factor in a lack of games. I imagine Crono will get a nice two-three thousand vote boost in the region from his remake release, which might end up mattering in a few key matches.

Or Kratos does that well because he has kickass games on top of an awesome character design that sold at least 10x Chrono Trigger's total sales ever.

I'm glad we finally have some evidence (not that it is very conclusive) to say that CT does not in fact derive a substantial portion of its strength from Dragon Ball.

I'm pretty sure Kratos is big more because of his character than his games. His games are absolutely weak.

Oh no, I seriously believe GoW2 was one of the best games of 2007 and had an incredible amount of effort put into it. Kratos certainly deserves to be where he is today.

GoW3 will be a huge release this year.

Yeah, I was using Persona as an example that anything can win a poll if the competition is weak enough. God of War games are weak in the polls. I swear, Dante, Kratos, and their series are mirror images.

To put the DQVIII poll in perspective

Tales of Symphonia would be stronger than DQVIII. On that poll alone you can make a (albeit flimsy) case for GoW losing to ToS in Round 1.

I managed to discover that I could view results for Sweden, Finland, and Germany even though they aren't options listed on the poll results page:

ToS sold more, was more relevant (being the GC's RPG saving grace while DQ8 was just another PS2 RPG), has managed to have more staying power. Tales of Vesperia vs. DQ8 is a debatable match. Symphonia is far out of its league.

And Persona 4 made the bracket, but doesn't mean there aren't stronger games like Rock Band that didn't. The most hardcore fanbases decide which fringe games make it.
