In no situation do I see Mega Man 3 not getting out of that match. You
have arguably the 2 weakest Final Fantasies in the contest splitting
with eachother.... No amount of Magical "same console making company"
SFF is going to overtake that. If it was SMB3, I'd be a bit more

And Kratos' contest strength is more than enough to give me 100%
confidence in GoW taking second there. I'd be more worried about it

I don't see GoW having much strength, heck it's lucky to even make it
to round 2. Outside of this match the only games I see God of War
beating are Okami, Pheonix Wright, Shadow of the Colossus and maybe

Yeah, I've always been skeptical of God of War and Devil May Cry.
There's no poll out there where any of them are all that impressive,
it's just their lead characters. Think Oblivion is the way to go in

Also, about these polls...I'm pretty sure they were before GoW became a
Greatest Hit, which lit its sales on fire again (and I think Kratos
showed an increase with before-n-after comparisons, too). GoW is also
the most established series of the three here, too, even if it's mainly
known for two games. It's not a sure-fire bet, but I'm okay with relying on it for now. --- Prototype Shorthand, do you speak it?! |

Even then it still has GTA to deal with imo. I see it being between Oblivion and ToS and these games have at least been more impressive than God of War. 25% in a Gamecube poll with Metroid Prime 2 ain't half bad and neither is coming close to Gears and FFXII. --- *is Dranze* Through fire, justice is served because FastFalcon05 owned my bracket. |

I suspect GoW2 would have done better if the PS3 hadn't just come out,
and I'm okay with GoW:CoO not doing hot there. GoW competed with DMC
despite less games (plus GoW2 was only out for probably four
months)...plus they're fighting for scraps there; nobody expects them
to beat the GTA's, MGS's, or especially LoZ's of GameFAQs. --- Prototype Shorthand, do you speak it?! |

Fight for scraps is very bad for a game like GoW. 1 on 1 it would
probably beat Oblivion or ToS based on name recognition alone, but

I'd say that's pretty bad by San Andreas. There's four Nintendo games
(and maybe one Nintendo-light) in the poll and it can only pull 14%,
failing to beat heavily LFF'd Twilight Princess and Galaxy? That
suggests that either of those (or FFX or RE4 if it is Ninty-lite) would

I'm not sure 'competing with DMC' is a good thing! It is when you just got your second game in a series-based poll! Only poll with Symphonia, ever, and it's completely untrustworthy. You've got possible RPG LFF with Paper Mario, possible doing worse due to being lower on the Nintendo Totem Pole than Mario/Metroid, the poll being 4 years ago...yeah. You can look at it like that...or you can look at it as ToS benefiting from all sorts of Nintendo LFF...or just take the poll at face value. Whatever the case, the only thing ToS has done of much worth is manage a spot on the Top 100 List, which I'm certain was more of a board creation than anything else.
