Mario World and Mega Man might as well both be Nintendo platformers
- those aren't two different fanbases that aren't going to hurt each
other. We saw what Mario World did to Sonic in the last contest, I'd
expect the same thing to happen here. All FFIV has to do is SFF FF1
instead of split evenly, something that shouldn't be that unlikely.
People tend to give FF1 too much credit, but we went over that one

And I don't think Mario World will get SFFd by Mario 3. Like, at all. I agree I don't see SMB3/SMW/SM64 SFFing each other anymore than maybe a couple of points. Assuming no SFF whatsoever: Super Mario World (2004g raw) has a raw strength of 37.66 against Base Link. Final Fantasy 1 (2004g raw) has a raw strength of 35.46 against Base Link. Super Mario World 52.92% 39,765 Final Fantasy 1 47.08% 35,375 TOTAL VOTES 75,140 Super Mario World wins with 52.92% of the vote! A 4,389 vote margin of victory. I'm kind of sensing a sarcastic move by that to tell you the truth. But later games in the series added much more flavor to the FF1 formula with each flavor having it's own strength and weaknesses (so to speak). I'm pretty sure Paper Mario wouldn't beat Metroid Prime. With that said, I'd honestly take Prime first and feel good about it.. but I have no idea if FFX will truly be that affected by KH. I've got Prime > FFX. I really hate to trust a Metroid title to do
anything, but I think the FFX/KH split is going to be fairly painful.
If it wasn't for mistrust of MGS2 and lingering doubt about FFVII/MGS,
I might have FFX lose that round, but I'm not willing to take that
